Best put the cat in the garage. Rodents can do lots of damage. Best find out where they are hiding. If you keep bird seed in your garage make sure is in a tightly covered metal can & clean up any spills.

I can bet you will not get that fixed under a warranty claim. All the above advice is good.
I watch out for mice and bats. Really can mess up things, but I don't let my cats in the garage, they can scratch MINI paint.
