    No, I don't want to rub it in....
    I probably got 30 years use out of this part, granted I had to weld it up probably 4-5 times.
    I just came to the conclusion I could make the part better out of cold rolled steel and much quicker. I'm sure the OEM manufacturer had reasons for the direction they took, which are probably different than the direction I took. That doesn't necessarily make us each wrong....:)

    Ordered up a couple of handsome chunks of cold finished 1018 steel 1.25" x 4" x 12" and 1/2" x 3" x 12" that came in from McMaster-Carr... My cost for raw material so far...... $60.00:D

    Doing a little cutting and scribing..... Getting the layout started....:D

    How about drilling some holes tapping them & bolting some straps on to strengthen it up a bit? Justa thought.
