Yeah but if red they won't know it when a finger gets lopped off.

Better slow and have all digits than stylish, quick and nicknamed Stumpy.

I worked with a guy nicknamed Stumpy. He lost the front quarter (or third ? give or take) of both of his feet when a faulty multi-ton blast door slammed shut.

Feisty little guy, you could only get away with calling him Stumpy if you did it behind his back. :biggrin5:

Send the broken piece to the company with a note to check their quality control...and a "Thanks, but no thanks" reply.

BTW, GRRRRREAT job on YOUR replacement design!

No, I don't want to rub it in....
I probably got 30 years use out of this part, granted I had to weld it up probably 4-5 times.
I just came to the conclusion I could make the part better out of cold rolled steel and much quicker. I'm sure the OEM manufacturer had reasons for the direction they took, which are probably different than the direction I took. That doesn't necessarily make us each wrong....:)

Nice fab job, $650 trumps $1800 any day, did you factor in your labor? ;)

If your stripper plate bracket needs to be that heavy duty, I don't think I want to know what kind of strippers you have out there ;-)
