Just dropped my car off at a local detailer, same shop that does the local Lexus, Toyota and Volvo dealerships - got a discount through a friend and couldn't resist. I've seen their work and frankly I'm a little giddy. And yes, I just said "giddy". Wow. No, it won't add speed, but it'll make me smile bigger.
New tires Bfg sport comps and motgie racing rims. Alinement to my specks. Made a short shift. Made air ducted from grill to chanel more are to stock box. Welded in a flex joint to get ride of the stuped ball and socket on my obx down pipe. Adjusted end links to compensate for lowering. Replacing brake pads from carbotech 1521 to xp10/xp8. Brake flush. Cleaned carbon off valves. Made and instaled oil catch can. Dealer-timeing chain, fixed oil leak, replace serpent belt. Slayed a dragon, killed a giant, fixed a wagon, wage a war, and stamped out sen. Ya so I think that is the short list. Oh window tint if I have the coin.
This detailer preps used cars for the local Lexus and Toyota/Volvo dealer, so I'm having them do the same thing to mine. No Armor-All or shiny lotion, just good, honest "clean". I mean, I keep it clean, but the Checkmate cloth picks up marks from just sitting on it, and the interior's 6 years old now, so it's time for a professional "refresh". they also do the little doordings and such on the outside. I'll see it in a couple hours, and cannot wait! It's weird, I generally do all the work on my car (everything I'm capable of, perhaps more accurately everything my friends and I are capable of, and I have talented friends who do things like supercharger oil changes!), so this is the first time I've completely contracted out something I thought I could do myself... we'll see... <nervous twitch>
OK OK.....snuck up on the MINI and grabbed a quick shot before it knew what I was doing..... It doesn't show the coolant stain I have yet to clean up. I forgot to set up the drool cup.
This is exciting....at least I think so! [ame="http://http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hAYFr5AdkqI&sns=em"]http://http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hAYFr5AdkqI&sns=em[/ame]
I'm having my Craven Speed shift well cover and M7 turbo heat shield powder coated red. Should get them back tomorrow! Oh, and I'm getting a super cool new pair of sunglasses with checkers down the sides!
I just got the .pdf from the website and had a friend print it up on his plotter. It actually turned out pretty good for being a rather small pdf.
