LOL- well, like I said, it all needed to be done... it just all went on the priority list before the Dragon :biggrin5:
I didn't have a choice... I've only owned the car since mid January :cornut: But now my baby is well taken care of
My intentions are to have BLU BRIT cleaned & polished, but more than likely she will be sporting the patina of use.
I have a list of things still to do before MOTD. Done: Rotated/Balanced wheels/tires Front bumper repainted and vinyl striped Need to do: Swap out OEM brake pads for EBC reds Install Defenders of Speed CAI Paint calipers Apply new decals to A Panel and side windows Wax the Red Dragon (it's new nickname as I haven't named the MINI since I bought it last April) ...can't think of anything else, though I am sure I am forgetting something.
Vacuumed and polished the interior. Waiting for mats to dry, then a coat of Back-to-Black (I'll get some Black-Wow at MOTD). Then all that's left is a wax with Banana Gloss. No rush there. I have plenty of time left. Jim
Yep, got one more interior cleaning, a wash and a nice buffing wax from Dave.O and Ryu is set to be packed and driven down there!
My hid kit for my driving lights came in so barring any real snafu's that should be done for sure. I got into my headlights again over the weekend, I rush ordered some new led's but had some issues with wiring that I guess due to lack of sleep I actually didn't figure out till after everything was back together. Fixed what could have been a potential problem but I'm still not really satisfied, I'll have to see how much is actually left to do by Fri. till I decide if I want to mess with it before the trip or not. The Joey Mod actually ended up being so easy I almost wish I could do a how to at MOTD just to get people over their fear of doing it. I can actually take my headlights out & apart in less than 30 min. now.
R50, 53, 56? I don't want to do the Joey, but do want to put a white LED in there as a "running lamp"... I've got the R53 with HID's... I had 'er detailed, installed my previous all-SS straight-back exhaust (will be bringing my non-SS straightback for the Way table if it doesn't sell first), and a LOT of safety checks...
Did you get those tires put on? I was looking at them today. They recommended the DW instead of the DWS because they are quieter and a better summer tire. I think the DWS is better all weather traction. Just curioius if you like them? I was also looking at some Goodyear Eagle RS-A. It's the tire that most of our police cars run. Good performance but also quiet.
I have since decided that that Goodyears are crap and also found an entire thread about the Conti's and everybody seems to love them, so I'm getting those.
Picked up an oil filter at the dealer and then went to Jegs main store a big old jug of Royal Purple Oil in preparation for an oil change. Shhhhh...don't tell jbewley I'm changing the oil at like 800 miles. Thats not a typo...I did say 800.
Jim try as I might I could not reason with him into waiting for the oil to solidify before changing it. Imagine that.
OK, I just realized he said 8C not 8K. My mistake, so forget everything I have said in this thread. Jim
