When I drove my R50 to my eye doctor today, about 12 miles from my house, I was wearing my MOTD Veteran vest and was asked what that was all about, so I told them about the Tail of the Dragon and the many times I had been there. They replied, "thank you for your service".

Also if your wondering what the plug is in the first picture, it is where I installed my V1. I have a phone mount on the windshield for an old iPhone I use as the remote for the V1 via Bluetooth. Form the outside you can’t tell it’s in the car.

And perhaps you can drop the brand name for that front/rear video camera, I could see a usage for that one.

Mine attached to the existing rear view mirror. I know what you mean about running the wires. The lotus is a big pain. the aluminum monocoque is very hard to run wires around, I had to order an extension wire for the rear camera so I could make all the turns.
All new car have a black box that records lotus of parameters in an accident. Some times the insurance company and law enforcement use them in court. I would not be surprised if those cameras do record. -

Went to start up my MINI this morning and it did not start. The starter motor clicked, but didn't turn. Looks like the battery died overnight. In the last 16 years, I have replaced the battery twice. This one has taken some abuse as the alternator failed about 4 years ago and I ran the car on battery until the battery ran out. So it was a matter of time. Anybody recommend a battery other than a MINI battery from the dealer parts department?
