I learned to appreciate it more.

I had the unique opportunity to compare my MINI against my wife Focus ST on the same roads with in a fairly close time.

The Focus was more stable in the high speed parts. The brakes are incredible even with stock pads. It is smooth over rough roads but still handles very well. The suspension is a great compromise. Over all the car is great and worthy of the praise it gets.

BUT! My MINI is sharper and quicker to changes in input. It also pulls harder out of corners. So it feels faster and more fun. I have a plan to improve the high speed stability and I'll test it in the spring.

I really don't know which is faster because I didn't time anything. My MINI isn't going anywhere for a long time because even if it's not faster (yet) it is a more fun and involving to drive.

I put 94 octane, 0% ethanol fuel in my car this morning. The car just purrrred. Noticed the difference right away.

Enjoyed a nice pretty day and a good drive over to the Dermo Doc in Scooter today, took a nip off my nose and froze a spot or two, best visit yet, most times I get 10-15 freezes, he must have made his numbers for the month. :)

Scooter did well, traffic was a ***** (it is Boulder, CO...) Took the CM down to the local Chinese place to pickup some takeout, that was good too. :)

Tomarrow I will take Scooter to the range and see how a friends AR works. :) Maybe shoot the the 22 with the scope for fun.

At one time I had a Cortina similar to that one. Mine was a GT and all white. Fun car.

Me and the Mini went to WallyWorld to pick up a couple of jugs of Mobil 1 to get in on the rebate before the deadline. Tried to buy a can of Penetrol, but the only way WW had it was online for $21. Found it at Lowes for less than 10 bucks.

I have a PPG windshield in my car and so far, it is holding up okay. Much better than the factory MINI windshields. I am on windshield number 7. I have had a windshield replaced every year from year 1 to year 6. The longest lasting one has been the PPG glass that I still have on my car. It has taken a few rock dings and survived where the factory glass would have needed replacing. I live in an area where the population is growing and there has been lots of construction. Other than the tint at the top of the glass not being quite as dark as the factory windshield, I have no complaints of the PPG glass. Perhaps it is a whee bit heavier. I don't know.

Crushed Pink leopard print velvet with tassels all the way around each sunroof opening.:lol:

No I am staying stock black fabric. The fix did not look "absolutely perfect" and I would have had to see it every time I got in the car so it had to go.

I also did the "Savvy" mod. I took apart the center mirror and removed the little remote control board that controls the power door locks and windows remotely and tucked it into the roof.

Why, you may ask? Because that little board in the mirror rattles and dives me nuts because the sound reflects off the windshield making it sound like its comming from the dash.

The real reason I did it is because it allows me to remove the mirror with a 1/2 twist without having to disconnect the wires when I am at the Dragon. The more you can see infront of you on the Dragon the better. This will also allow me to lock/ unlock, power down and up my windows and sunroof on my car remotely when I stop for Donuts or Lunch.

Drove a 7 mile country road consisting of a series of 15 MPH curves separated by small straights - a favorite of sports cars. BMW sedan following. I left him behind on curves, whipping effortlessly around them, and I let him catch up some just before the next curve. Saw him in my rear view mirror nearly lose it - howling tires and swerving - and after that he disappeared having given up the chase. Probably needed clean underwear. Ha! Not many can keep up with modded MCS in the curves.

I'm sitting the waiting room at the Old Dover garage. Took Babs clubster in for an oil change. Waiting for the oil to cool a bit & drain into the sump, then it's wrench time. :D

Edit... All finished. The shade tree mechanic moves slower these days. He's getting old.

Today I took my MINI out to run a few errands. I pulled up to a stoplight an what was sitting beside me...... a brand new all Black McLaren P1. :eek6: The guy was revving the engine so I said sure what the hell, why not.

The light turned green we both spun our tires a little I pulled out a few feet on him and then then BOOM he was gone!
He turned around about an mile up the road and as he was coming back by me he had his arm out the window giving me a thumbs up.

Hope you convinced her to leave it there as a deterrent to other birds. Maybe hang a sign around it's neck like they do with the corpse of bad guys in western movies.

^^^^ yup I pressure was all the big stuff off and the cover it with about 2 inches of foam and let it sit for 5 min. The foam lifts off the rest of the dirt and all I have to do is rise it and use my leaf blower to dry it.

The less you touch a dirty car the less scratches and swirl makes you have.
