Went to the Vancouver International Autoshow and visited the MINI booth. They gave me a free MINI International magazine. Haven't seen one in years.

 

Took the wifey out for Fish and Chips and her first ride in the R53 since I bought it last month!!

She approves

 

The stopping part really wore down the soles of my boots!

 

Drove with open windows!

Woohoo, it's about time.

 

Went for my daily drive.
Washed it for the first time in about 8 months.

 

Went to see "Furious 7" at the drive-in last night with fellow MINIs.



After the movie was over, my seat back wouldn't release from the almost fully reclined position.



So, this morning, I ran out to get the torx bit set needed to remove the seat and got to tearing it apart to rectify the situation. All the welds were still solid.



Since there is no real way to disassemble the recline mechanicals... I took the simple machine route and put a stronger bit of leverage in place of the plastic one-way lever.



Got it to free itself into a usable state. I'll have watch how far I move that pig in the future... but for now, it's all better. A little stiff adjusting it but it holds once adjusted. I'll call it success....... for now.

 

People still use CD changers?

Installed Black and Grey Checkered...

Followed up tinting my windows by installing black and grey checkered side view mirror caps.

 

Last night: after picking up a new something something for the whip... I stopped by Dave.0's for some guidance on the next steps. Long story short a hand grinder was required and I made the Mistress a little dirty with some ground steel sparks.



Most of it was dusted off within seconds of the grinder being unplugged.

 

Today's list of things done to my MINI today.
Alignment
Brake flush and ABS bleed
Oil change
Trans flush and fill
Tire rebalanced
Had 5 dings removed

Tomorrow:
Swap exhaust
Pick up 5 gal of Meth
Wash car
Prep for fuel filter and new fuel pump instal Sunday.

 

Purchased a street cam from Jan.

 

I went out today and picked up 5 gal. of Meth for the Dragon and put my much louder exhaust on.

Only weeks to go.

 

That's what loud norms are for while yelling pull the F ** K OVER!

 

NEVER trust a jogger... They are always the ones who find the bodies...

 

Left it in the garage and rode 72 miles on the bicycle in Dave.0's honor.

 

Well, since I'm gonna be eat'n pineapple for two weeks, I started it up and exercised it a bit. That oughta hold it till I get back.....

 

You guys should just let them rust... A clean shiny car is just over rated.

 

Had car detailed. During the process, the dealer removed, dropped and broke my fancy new cup holder. Product Page | BMW Mini cup holder Detail was free as a result. Ordered another new cup holder. May or may not arrive before the dragon. If not, I'll have to set up an iv-drip in the passenger seat to mainline my morning coffee...

 

Going from no spoiler, to this....

 

Autocrossed it today. Took 1st in class, always nice to come out of a long winter with some solid pothole dodging skills that translates well to cone dodging.

Also ordered an aFe dry filter, OEM hood heat shield, and a spacer for the spare tire I bought for the MOTD trip (needed to fit over the JCW brakes).
