Today I said goodbye to my MINI. It was a bitter moment. I had so many good moments in that car and I just hope my next MINI will get here soon.

 

I turned on the A/C for the trip home.........

 

Waved at an F56 MINI driver on my way to work this morning. Was surprised he waved back

 

I will find a place to store it until the wife gets grumpy and says get rid of it. :lol:

I will not be taking 2 bumpers to the Dragon that for sure and the new one will stay on.

 

Keep doing stuff like that we'll start thinking you are keeping Dark Helmet for a bit longer.

 

I liked that air drill / pump setup..... Someone had their thinkin cap on....

Any idea who makes that mechanical pump? I have all kinds of air tools in the shop....

I'm thinkin that could come in real handy...

 

Getting ready for MINIs Take North Carolina next weekend. Changed out the belt, plugs, plug wires and cleaned and charged the air filter. Still up on jacks waiting for the engine mount to come in.

 

Fixed a squeaky window, greased the sunroof tracks, door latches, changed some bulbs, and killed the battery in the fiancée's R56. :lol:

 

You should park in California.....

 

after getting another $50 worth of tools from Harbor Freight, I was finally able to do the valve cover gasket. Nice and clean in that motor. Lots of Mobil 1 went through there in the last 10 years.

Then I ordered a front radiator support

 

Waxed the car and wheels, dressed the exterior trim and tires and all for no

particular reason.

 

For Father's Day.... drove the MINI down to the North Market with the wife and had some good eatin at Hot Chicken Takeout.... Some really tasty chicken served there.... They open at 11:00am with a line that starts forming before they open.... They post up the number of chickens that they have for the day (732 for today)... When they run out.... well that's it for the day.... They don't skimp on the servings... The place was packed....:drool

 

Went out for a nice ride today with the wife and stopped at a few stores and Lowes.

Good drive on back roads with lots of twisties and no traffic.

 

Heading out to the Mini now for a 100 mile round trip and a day at the VA. Y'all have a nice day.

 

Replaced the VANOS solenoid and changed the oil after picking up from dealer who had walnut blasted the intake. Wanted $630 to replace the solenoid....not on your life (1-10mm bolt, hoses moved and a tight space)

 

Herself brought it back from a 1,000 mi. road trip yesterday. Of course, the tank was dry, it was covered in bugs and road grime. So, filled it with 93, washed it and steelwooled the windscreen. Much happier now.

 

Went and talked Mini with some good folks at Mini Meet West 2015.

 

Battery charged on my Classic so I can take it for a little spin tomorrow morning.
