About a half hour ago, I made the Rat's new friend a permanent one! [emoji12]

Its going to be a long slow restoration build, but will be worth the time and money when done!

I pretty much stole it, you can't find an FC RX-7 original turbo in this shape for less than $7K anymore especially when this one already has over $10K into the pistonless engine under the hood! I payed way less than that! [emoji6]

Let Sömmerdämmerung have a rain-bath today. First in a few months (as my neighbor's lawn will attest).

Sutter Creek!!! Geeze, what a small world. I used to spend my summers up in that part of the Gold Country. My Aunt and Uncle used to own the Sutter Creek Beer Garden, and they owened half of the town of Amador City... I polished my first fire engine in that little town. What great family memories!

Today I did with my MINI... absolutely nothing.
But I did drive my BMW to VIR, and drove some healthy "parade" laps during lunch break. Watched Mark Dissen drive the pants off his Lotus Evora the rest of the day.

Congrats! It surprised me how quick the F56 actually is in a straight line... A buddy's totally stock automatic ran a 14.4 at Bandemere during the big car show... Translate that to an altitude where there is actually air, and the car would be running somewhere in the mid 13 second range... Quick even for today's standards. [emoji2]

It already has the Sport Suspension option. I'm still researching this option 226 to see what bits were changed. From everything I've read, it's a serious improvement over stock and is 20% stiffer than the variable dampers. And, thanks, I think. It get's delivered to my house Friday AM and I'm already thinking of mods. Need to just drive it stock for a while.... at least until I can sell off some of these R56 parts.
