Did a run with Carlisle MINI today up to Centralia, Pa. That is the town that
is now a ghost town due to the coal mine fire that has been burning under it
since 1962. We only saw two homes that are still standing and lived in, the
rest of the town is simply gone. The streets, curbs and side walks are there
but nothing else.-

Nothing with my mini. But it did start with a M. Mustang! I put long tube headers on my younger sons Mustang. What a job that was! We started yesterday at about 1PM and worked till 2AM. then today from 1 and finished at around 7.
We worked so late because the engine was being held by a hoist, you have to drop the subframe to get to the headers. I couldn't close the garage because of the hoist. But by 2AM I had to give up!
I was really worried about leaving the door open. My Indian is on the other side. I would have pushed it into the house but I may have got in trouble!!
When I came down stairs my son was asleep on the couch in the den, it's shares a wall with the garage. I found out later he slept there to guard my bike.
How cool is that! He is a great kid. I would never have asked him to do that. He did it after I want to bed.-

Another hot day in Colorado, after mowing the lawns, we took the Countryman down for a late lunch at our local Chinese (Spice China - Louisville), a great dinner/lunch at lunch special prices.
Always amazes me how much food you get at this restaurant, Shanghai Chinese style with some Thai, Vietnamese and Americanized Chinese dishes. Yummmy.
Now back to a previous posting, a picture of the shop in Loveland, 2nd Amendment Gun Supply and Gunsmithing. Nice and good inventory/selection, strong on Sig, Glock, Springfield and Amrscor (Rock Island) for the semi-auto fans.
I have Ed (owner) smithing one of my 1911 Target 22LR, we shall see if he can get it running smoother.
Enjoy,
Don-

After spending the greater part of the past 8 days lying around with a severe bronchial infection, I removed the battery charger and dusted it off. I'm planning on taking it for a breakfast spin tomorrow morning.

The now-extinct Cross. It offered no installation resistance whatsoever. Everything just fitted perfectly. The sound, just right! & of course, the psychological 50hp power gain, PRICELESS:biggrin5:!!!!

Spent hours detailing it this weekend in uncharacteristic humidity (ugh, I was drenched in sweat) just to notice little tiny handprints all over it this morning when I drove it to work. There was even a full print on my driver's side mirror. Evidently my kids love the MINI too.

Next thing I know The radar detector is in place and I am on some twistys with the SC screaming.!

17 year old son (Mr mustang) has been giving me a hard time about how great Mustangs are compared to say a MINI!! This is the son that always goes to the Dragon with me. But still has to trash talk. I have told him we will bring the Mustang this year but that has not slowed him down.
Well Yesterday I get a call "dad I have a flat and with the spare on the traction control keeps turning on" No problem I will be come fix the tire just wait at school.
So I get my tools together put them in the MINI and go.
It sure was fun to rub it in that a MINI had to come bail the mighty Mustang out of trouble!
Ha! some times I told you so are the best words on earth.
He's a great kid though!-

Stayed home with the kiddo today after she woke in the middle of the night complaining that her head hurt. She kept cupping the side of her head so I assumed it was an ear infection and promptly made an appointment with our pediatrician. Turns out she somehow tweaked her right Trapezius muscle, poor kid.
Before taking the Mini to the doctor:
After taking the Mini to the doctor:
Evidently some Ibuprofen, a heat pack, and a BK lunch was enough to "feel me better."
Gotta admit though that the way home from the doc was the first time I've felt badly that the ride was so stiff, poor little hurt neck and all. Took it easy for sure.-

This is culture weekend for my wife, as it is her birthday weekend and the best thing I could do for her was to take her to some cultural events. So, we drove HER S to see a musical today, and tomorrow [on her actual birthday], we are driving HER S to see some ballet. HER S will appreciate the coupla hundred miles I'll put on it and my wife will be happy to have been "culturalized"...at least for a weekend. :cornut: Hey, like they say, "happy wife, happy life".

Some shots courtesy of a local Clubman owner...
If you recognize the above background from the opening of the 2nd Transformers movie... hate to burst your bubble, it wasn't filmed in China.
Possibly the greatest thing about that International Truck was the $#!+house door that made the floor of the bed...
