Got The Helmet out and took it for a drive in the rain before I visit the hospital tomorrow to get my pipes unclogged so that I'm back in shape for the Dragon.

Opened the door to the garage from the kitchen. Looked at the car. Closed the door.

    Snow and ice today. :(

Replaced most of the interior lights with cool white LEDs. Just have to order up 4 more 194s to take care of the map lights. Also, replaced the puddle lights in the bottom of the doors.

Screw the local club crap and you have to come to MOTD.

I dumped the MINI club scene long ago because of drama and it was not worth my time.
The un-clubs are much better with true friends. Also life on M\A is a good way to stay in contact with the people you like and trust.

    No need.

Crashton did all the hard work already. This car has everything it needs. I'm just the new caretaker.

Now that I have an R53 Dave.0 can teach me the secret handshake for the clubhouse. Woot!!

Took Skooby to Discount Tire this morning. Summer tires on & snow tires off & bagged. One snow tire was rendered only usable as a tire swing by a Central Ohio road crater.

I was worried we wouldn't be able to find a replacement. Bridgstone has now gone to a WS80 Blizzak & ours are WS70 plus the fact we are at the end of winter where snow tires are hard to find. Low & behold Jeremy did a bit of telephone work & bam he found us one. We are feeling pretty lucky. :D

Big Thumbs up for Discount Tire the Crashton family tire store.

I have the wheels off the car first.

First I pressure wash them to remove all the loose crud.

Next I use Meguiar's (APC)!All Purpose Cleaner and a Blue SOS pad with sponge on one side and non scratch scrubbing pad on the otherside. You can buy them at the supermarket.
Meguiar’s All Purpose Cleaner Concentrate, 1 Gallon, works on carpet, fabric, vinyl, and leather for all-over interior cleaning.

I work one on wheel at a time and clean, scrub and rinse before I move to the next one.

After they are all clean I remove any little tar dots with Acetone on a rag.

For the last cleaning step I use Dodo Juice Ferrous Dueller. I spray it on let it sit to pull out any iron from the rotors and after a few minutes I scub them down wit the SOS sponge pad again.
Dodo Juice Ferrous Dueller Iron Remover, paint decontamination

After they are all clean I dry them I spray them down with RainX again one wheel at a time and wipe off the residue.

The last thing I do is apply Blackfire paint sealant one wheel at a time and wipe the wheel down before I work on the next one.
BLACKFIRE Wet Diamond All Finish Paint Protection, paint sealant, synthetic sealant, blackfire sealant

That's it your all done, sit back opena cold beer and enjoy your great looking rims. To keep them clean you really only need soap and water but if they really dirty you can use the Dodo Juice cleaner again. Just remember a little goes a loooong way and you don't need to spray the whole bottle on one wheel.

Dodo Juice is not Sonax, it's much stronger it will NOT harm your rims or lugs and does not stink like your grandmother give her feiend a perm.

Drove the Dragon and Foothills twice on a beautiful day and had some great BBQ.

Thanks Savvy for taking that lead car ticket.

Came back and cleaned a few cars and drank a lot of cold beer. (Perfect day)

Thanks to Jan for my new ecu tune on my Cooper! WOW...what a difference! It pulled thru yesterday's ride over the Dragon and on my way home to Ohio wonderfully!

Dang...looks like I just may have to "force" myself to come back to MOTD again NEXT year! I'll NEVER run out of all those cigars, so all you people who attended the Cigar Salon will just HAVE TO suck it up and help a buddy out for another [YES, ANOTHER] year.

500!!!! I have officially posted my 500th post on Motoring Alliance.
I know...not much compared with some of you out there, but it is a milestone of sorts for me.

Now get back out there and drive your MINIs.

Took my wife's S for an all day 400 mile spin to decorate family graves for Memorial Day. Cops were EVERYWHERE, so I went the speed limit...averaged 37.3 mpg up and back...oh, Happy Day!

    Gotta ask,
Did you change jobs so you could spend more time @ Helix plus you know, cheese steaks?

    Jealous minds want to know.

The new job does let me work "virtually" (no office)...

More time at Helix??? More Cheesesteaks??? We'll see...

The increased horsepower and larger waistline will give me away!
