I have always been under the impression that for special edition vehicles, mods would drive the price down just the same as mileage. I guess that would depend on how much of a “purist” you are dealing with though. I didn’t buy the car with resale in mind, it was supposed to be a good weather fun car but soon became my DD and was up until COVID started getting out of hand.

Gas prices are bad but so are other things. When I got home from work I took the Helmet to the parts store. I got oil and a filter for my wife’s mini and plugs for my truck. Total $155, for oil, filter and plugs. Crazy. And they were out of all the Mobile 1 so I got Royal Purple.
I was going to work on my truck then changer her oil when she got home but it was 97 and the humidity was like 100% so I wimped out.-

I had an R53 MCS that had the standard mods... airbox, intercooler, injectors, plugs, pulley, belt, cat-back exhaust and dyno-tune. It felt great, but never felt like a JCW, despite having the same basic mods.[/QUOTE]
I have all the mods you had a several more and in my case the JCW was not available at the time I order the car (MCSa) so I don't think it's a bad thing. As a matter of fact I think my car out performs a JCW car. Besides I like it. Sorry I forgot to say I still have a supercharger and love it. The sound is great.-

I didn't realize the F60 Countryman had a fluid filled engine mount just like the R53, which had a tendency to leak. Apparently, it does.
I complained rather bitterly (in a nice way) that I though MINI would have learned their lesson as I had replaced the top engine mount on my R53 twice already and they're telling my the one on the Countryman is leaking.
So the MINI dealer near my place replaced both mounts (top and bottom) and only charged me for the labor. They good willed the parts. (about $500).
The service manager also told me the newer version of the top engine mount is not fluid filled so I should never see this issue again on the Countryman.
The Countryman doesn't feel any different with the new mount.
Also, since there are no courtesy cars available, the dealership called Uber to drive me home after dropping off the car and then another Uber to pick me up and drive me back to the dealership when the car was ready. I got to ride in the back seat of a Tesla Model 3.-

This is what I did FOR my MINI today....
Last week I started painting the walls in the garage, so today I was able to mount some shelving and the Quick Jacks...

Will today is clean up day. It will take a couple of hours. The wheels are a mess (lots of brake dust) and the car is loaded with bugs. To get to Chico I have to go through a lot of farm land to many bugs. It was a good time. They have this every month on the first Saturday.

This has nothing to do with my car, but I thought I'd say something about the weather here. I shop every Tuesday at 6:00am and it was 76 degree's and about 5 or 6 mph wind. What a great Moring, but wait till this afternoon about 115 degree's. Oh well you can't have it all.

Drove the MINI Countryman on some errands, just under 90K miles on the 2011, might be time to refresh some of the bits, cost versus and upgrade for the 2nd car, so far it is only dropping some drops of oil on garage floor from the front mainseal, will be the 4th try at replacing, going to go with a senior independant this next go around. Stays dry for 3 to 6 months then weeps again. N18 engine.... Not sure. if it is a feature it is kinda British.
