Went for my oil change and Boot to Bonnet inspection and luckily for me I did as the mechanic found my passenger side caliper trying to escape. It seems the bolt had gone awol and before everyone says doncha know how torque stuff down it was a job that had been done a year or so before I got the car. New bolt in and the most pressing thing found was the front struts are due to be replaced.

The electrizicle ones work well. More than enough power methinks...

So yesterday I was treated with the what does this funny thing on the speedometer mean? Burned out parking light, oh joy...

This morning I proceeded to replace both of them. Not terribly difficult, but pretty tough on an old fart. At least I didn't have to put the car in service position. :Dead:

In celebration of Skooby getting new TPMS sensors I gave it a nice warsh job. Shiny Hot Chocolate paint makes Lady Babs happy. ;)

Washed the garage dust of the Countryman today or at least my sweet wife did :). She did this while taking the pup for a long walk on a hot day. So I suggest a wash to help them cool off. The CM is running well after the 4K fix, no oil leaks from the cranshaft front seal or the oil pipe thru the feed on the side of the 1.6 block. Anyway, keeping the 92k 2011 CM for a bit longer. All stay healthy and take care. Don

Great pads, I used them as my replacement pads on the 2007 MCS after I burnt up the race pads when tracking the MINI. They work well and are pretty dustless. :)

Weather forecast called for a nice sunny day today...
Did some checks on the MINI... Tire Pressure, Oil Level, Coolant, Fuel gauge... Check, Check and more checks...
    IMG_2744.jpg

Grabbed my sweetie and drove 1-1/2 hours east to Zanesville Ohio, for lunch. All back roads driving...
Managed to beat the lunch crowd... One of the perks of retirement...

    Lunch by the river...

Thirsty but thought it was Tuesday... IDK

She had the crab cake and shrimps with a side of Mac & Cheese...
I had the grilled Walleye Rubin...

It was a great day to be out and about in the MINI...

Thank god I pay good. I think I'm driving the shop crazy. I want what I want. All I ask is do it right the first time. Take as much time as you need to do that. The muffler shop is doing a good job.

Well I'm picking up Checkers today and going back to the smog shop for the retest. That 02 sensor being 3 inches off only ran about $2500.00.

You know what's funny. With the new header it seem to have more power. The one I had removed was a race header that should have had better flow. I'm getting a little more boost also.

Washed Checkers next I'll use a product called Hydro Boost. It's suppose to help the ceramic coating.

It worked great and you can't beat it for $100.00. It's small and light weight. I was going to start polishing but it's to hot. The weather man said it should be 108 today. I'll start tomorrow morning early.

I'm thinking about trying a little something different. I order some new intercooler boots and airmass hose in black. I will add a little more chrome like all the screw clamps and intercooler boot brackets. I think with the black background the chrome should stand out. What do you think?

Replaced the plastic part on the front of the valve cover...
I broke one of the plastic tabs a while back and it's been bugging me because it didn't sit straight...
Well today I made that OCD irritant go away...

I ordered up a couple of parts for Checkers today. I'm going to make changes in the engine compartment. Nothing major just detailing. I can't seem to stop from making changes.

Sky's the limit if you hydrodipped your valve cover...

I guess they didn't have enough deer to color they are closed. I'll keep trying. For now I'm going to put the new valve cover and hoses on and see how it looks. Then see if it needs anything else.

To show you how the mini clubs here do to have fun. I got invited on a run tonight at 6:30pm to drive 80 miles to a mini dealer to eat watermelon and talk. Boy that sounds like fun (ha ha). I sure miss the good old days. We decided to go to Applebee's instead.
