Saturday went out on a "Survivors Run"... only 1st generation MINIs were allowed. Had a damn decent showing too. Including 3 GPs.

So does that mean you will keep the new bumper at home and take the current bumper to the Dragon?
Or will you take both with you to the Dragon and just install the old bumper for the donut run? [emoji41]-

There is a kit made by the mad boys in Australia that fixes this.... It still uses the coil and remains connected to the ECU, so no thrown codes...
Here's the kit... I did the "Make them an offer", and they took it...
New GFB Go Fast Bits DV BOV Valve Mini Peugeot Citroen Applications T9352 | eBay
Real nice quality part....
The most difficult step in the replacement was getting the three socket head screws removed from the turbo housing (they had locktite on the threads)... Dropped my tools 3 times in the engine compartment... Went together much faster... Then took it for a spin.... No codes...-

I was, however, disappointed in the other 'runs' I tried to participate in... nothing measured up to the Donut Run. :frown2:-

I wet sanded my headlights with 2000, 2500 and 3000 and then buffed them out to a nice clean finish.
They will look great when I get my car back from the bodyshop later this week. I am having the hood repainted and new aero bumper. I will be puting everything back together to make sure everything is reassembled and aligned correctly.-

Today, I took the Mazda valve cover back to its owner, and was surprised when he said that 3 more people on the MAZDASPEED forums are interested in getting theirs done! [emoji12]
At $300 a pop, I could use the paycheck that would bring in. [emoji41]-

Got back from two days of Monterey car week early this morning. Threw together some last minute graphics and installed a Fubrication GP wing to add some horsepower before heading down.

Thanks guys, things are really starting to look up. [emoji41]
Getting the Rat cleaned up for tomorrow's show... Not like I have a chance of pulling a trophy out of a 2000+ car field, but I also gave up on relationships too... So who knows! [emoji12]

This isn't so much of a what-I-did-with-my-MINI-today post so much as a what-I-did-with-my-MINI-this-past-week post.
Last week, I drove the hubs and I to Napa for our 10 year anniversary. Walked around with a happy buzz for two days and ate way too much.
A couple of days ago, I took my dad for an extended drive. He recently acquired my sister's MINI (she moved to NYC and has no need of a car there) and called me last night specifically to ask me a million questions about my exhaust and where I got it...
And...this morning I stopped for gas on the way to work. While I was pumping, some half-toothless guy who looked to be quite a bit older than I am (not that there's anything wrong with that) pulled up in a beat-up 90's Ford Taurus across from me. He asked me how I was doing and I responded politely...and then he proceeded to tell me that he thought I went to high school with him. I laughed and told him, "I don't think so," and then he proceeded to ask me 50 questions about my MINI. I tried politely to tell him to have a good day so I could leave, but he kept talking.
I eventually had to just get in my car, shut the door, and drive off...the guy was not shutting up.
Apparently Chevron is now the place to meet chicks.-
