Saturday, took Rocketdog down to SE Denver for a MITM meeting, what should have been 45 min. was 1hr 45min. in the worst Denver traffic I have been in for years. :( Plus it rained, RD was washed all pretty on Friday!

Today, club had our annual Leprechaun run, Mexican St Paddy's Brunch in WonderVU, then a nice twisty run to the North via Peak to Peak.

A little snow, dry starting point, we had 19 MINIs and a sweet Classic come along for the fun.

    Don

Teaser, see my Picasa/G+ for more.

Ahh, CraftSquare mirrors. I like mine, I hate mine. People love to fondle them for some reason and knock them out of alignment. I've even used red loctite to prevent them being moved. No dice, after a week at MOTD they are fondled so much I saw one having a smoke afterwards.

Put a little butt wHoopin on my friends Honda SI after he asked me to race. Don't really like to do that in a straight line but a challenge is a challenge. Once out of 1st gear I was gone.

I don't always race. But when I do, I beat your a... :cornut:

Don't try & use a Fram filter in your MINI. Best to stick with an oem filter.

2 new Continental Extreme Contact DW tires to replace 2 balding ones. A nice feeling when you drive and don't have to worry if a tires going to go. Been sweating it for the past couple weeks.

Took the ferry to Vancouver Island and drove the Pacific Marine Circle.

The Pacific Marine Circle Route. A driving tour on BC's Vancouver Island coast. Sights along the Route. Beaches. Parks and Trails. Natural Wonders. Swimming Lakes. Museums.

All I can say is WoW!!! Narrow highway that has single lane bridge crossings over rivers and streams. Lots of twists, turns, switchback combinations and changes in elevation, mid-turn. Incredible scenery including views of the pacific ocean and snow covered mountain peaks with canyons in between.

The most incredible thing I saw was logging trucks take switchback turns as fast or faster than my MINI. [IMG] and they did it safely too. They let me pass when I was going faster and when they were faster than me, I pulled over a bit to let them pass and they would flash their taillights, wave, and blow their horns in thanks just like a good MINI motorer would. I gained huge respect for those guys. Okay, there were parts where I went slow to take on the views. I will post a link to my Flickr page on this post when I get pictures up on Flickr.

If you can stomach the $100 return ferry trip (which in itself is fun), I would recommend this to any MINI motorer out there.

Met up with physics mastermind and then went back to his secret underground lair to work on our plans to conquer gravity (ok, so I met Nick for breakfast and then we went down to the workshop in his basement and worked on pinewood derby MINIs).

Renewed the brakes...Red stuff pads, new rotors OEM style from Way, stainless steel lines also from Way, new sensors. Warning light is now off, car stops, no squeals. Success!
