My S is at the dealer, inside and all warm and snuggly til they find out what's wrong with it. My wife's S is now languishing in the garage where I normally park my S...and out of the cold, so I think she's happy.
Speaking of being happy...HAPPY NEW YEAR, EVERYONE!

Vacuumed out the inside, treated the leather parts with leather cleaner and treatment, Cleaned off the dash and console with interior cleaner, cleaned the windows, rain-x on the outside of the windshield. Q_tipped, the air vents and other plastic joint parts where there was dust/dirt. Silicon greased the door hinges. It was a dry warm +4C day outside yesterday.
That was for my R53 and the Countryman .-

Finished painting the top part of my rear hatch and cleared it with 5 coats. I unbagged car and took it out for a few errands today. Later in the week or next weekend I will wetsand put the orange peel in the clear can’t and polish it to a smooth high gloss. I also have to do the same sanding and polishing on the GP rear spoiler parts befor I install it.
The holes on each end of the hatch will be plugged with the JCW little roof foils like before, just freshly painted.

Strangely enough it snowed while I was in Winston Salem,NC before turning to sleet for a while. And me on my summer tires. Tomorrow it's going to be 70º.
Anyway, got my wing installed and used my new Schwaben Scan Tool to register my new battery. Fairly productive day with about five hours on the road.-

I ceramic coated the insides of my new wheels and made an appointment for a wheel alignment before the Dragon. I got some shop towels in, as usual, for the Dragon if anyone wants some. I picked up some supplies for the M/A Tent. A good day, all in all...

Put a high power LED Bulb in the
reverse light socket (only one on the
right in my R55, so it needs all the help
it can get).
About 4-5 x as bright as a p21w and
more than twice as bright as the 796
35w halogen bulb I usually use in that
position.
Manufacture claims 3600 lumen and
1800 mA draw per bulb, but I measure
about 1800 lm and 850 mA. 6500K.
I like 3.5-5K better but no one makes a
bright one like that that I could find.

I washed Teddy’s car at Fontana before I detailed it for the car show. I went to get more coffee and a smoke and a bird the size of a Condor crapped on the painted part of his roof and half his drivers glass. It was a huge poop.
I rinsed it right off as I had already coated his car with 2 layers Gyeon MOHS when I detailed it a few years ago. His car still looks great. Anyhow after a quick detail and prep we parked it on the ball field for the car show.
Teddy won Best in his class, Best engine compartment and the big one, BEST IN SHOW!
P.S. I did not enter my car in the car show because I don’t compete against my friends.
After that we got him parted up for his journey home and he took off for Cincinnati, OH.
We he got home he did not feel well and is currently in Mercy Anderson Hospital. I talked to him a little while ago today and he sounds better and is feeling better. In typical “Teddy” style he said he feels great because his is getting the good drugs and should be out of the hospital in a few days.-

Friday, I picked up the MINI from MINI of Allentown's body shop. I had dropped it off there the week before MOTD (which is why I was in my F150 this year) for them to have a second go at repairing the right rear taillight rust that didn't work the year before. I was pleasantly surprised to see that they actually did it right this time by replacing the whole rear quarter panel. Hopefully, the rust doesn't come back anytime soon, and I can keep this R53 rolling for many years to come.

Went to the show today, but a huge storm came in so they closed it down at 11:30. Styers and I were across the street eating lunch when they closed it down, we came out just as it started to rain lightly - we were the only two cars left at the venue!
I got about 1/4 of the way home and the storm hit in earnest - rain came down in torrents. I hit a HUGE puddle, water clear up over the hood and my engine died, right in the middle of a very busy intersection - rain still coming down in buckets. It took about 10 minutes but if finally hit on one or two cylinders and then after milking along for about a minute it finally picked up and roared again. The rest of the way home was no issue other than having to drive around people who were crawling along at 15 mph with their flashers on! I pulled into the garage and of course the rain stopped.....
3 green cars in a row!-

I worshed the MINI with my new Griots Foam Cannon, It works pretty good. I bought the starter kit,
https://www.griotsgarage.com/product/boss+foaming+system+starter+kit.do?code=PPCPLG&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIp8OR0LqN4wIVlcpkCh2rkw1REAQYASABEgIv_PD_BwE
it came with the foam gun, a bottle of foam gun soap and a bottle of foam on wax as well as a big microfiber towel. There was some dried on bird shit on the side rear glass that I had to rub off with the towel, but I am satisfied with the job it did.
I have a big 4400 psi, 4 gallon/minute Simpson pressure washer, the wand on it is 31" long, so the foam gun was way out there while I was washing. I ordered an adapter from Amazon that will eliminate the wand and put the foam gun right at the trigger assembly.
This thing would be great for washing something tall, like a recreational vehicle.-
