Edit: Yep, I'm quoting mine own self. :D
I forgot one thing about my trip. I'm not a paid spokesman, but I did stay in a Holiday Inn Express. Also got a nice discount for being a member of the THMMC. :cornut:

Last wednesday I headed out to Asheville for a few days. On the way I stopped by Sneeds to have one of their new "Billy Club" shift knobs installed. I have a Cravenspeed short shifter installed and set at it's shortest position. This makes for a nice short throw, but a little stiffer shift. With the new, taller knob you still have the shorter throw and now the effort required to up or downshift is minimal. In the few days I spent riding around in the mountains and the drive home I got a chance to test the new knob fairly extensively (approx 400 miles worth).
and I am a big fan. It's not a pretty as the Whalen I was running, but it is a lot nicer/smoother/easier to use. On an odd note, we found that the Mini specific knob will not fit the Craven shifter because the shifter shaft on the Craven is a smaller diameter. Ended up with a knob made for a Mustang. This was somewhat disconcerting with me being a lifelong Bowtie man. :frown2:

I actually like the look. It's not blingy, but it looks very functional in a don't-make-me-bust-your-kneecaps kind of way. :)

Ordered a new arch to replace the one that decided it no longer liked being a part of my MINI. All new clips too.

The best part, called Steven at eMINIParts and let him know what I needed. Thought the clips were extra. They are not, they are included with the part. It's going to be shipped today too. Cool.

Gave the MINI another day off since it was so darned nice. Took a nice country drive in the roadster for BBQ & then some ice cream. Swell drive with Mrs Honey. :D

All you folks already switching from summer rubber. I guess you know something I don't know. Thanksgiving is my traditional swap tires date.

    06 R52 with 63,500 Miles. This weekend:
    1. New Michelin 215x40x18 Pilot Sport A/S 3 tires. Wow! the grip is amazing. Replaced Continental Extreme Contact DWS, which were quite worn. I got about 35K miles from the Continentals. And, due to good alignment, were worn evenly and ran smoothly.

    2. Replaced both O2 sensors, before and after the CAT due to ESS code.

    3. Replaced MSD coil, you know that red-colored after-market coil that is heavily advertised to be better than OEM? Well, #3 was misfiring, and had gotten worse until it misfired continually. So, I replaced it with the OEM. So, much for China-made; (it says so on the bottom). So, right now, I am mad at MSD! $200 (worse than) wasted on bad performance.

Bottom line: car runs unbelievably smooth and really handles. Of course it is also RMW dyno-tuned with all the usual mods, FSD shocks and poly bushings etc.

You're lucky the MSD coil didn't fry the ECU and harness... A lot of problems with that over the years.

$$$ from price markup = greed.
Its the same with the Screamin Demon coil.

The OEM coil and Wire are good up to 400 WHP.

Who would have thought a Studebaker "Lark" would ever be in a car show?

Put the new shorter belt on. Pry bar only slipped a few times. First test run no smell of burning rubber. But my boost went from 14.5 to 14.7 not much of a change.

    Also added this

    It added about 2HP! :D

Well yesterday I planned to change the oil and put new clips on the chrome strip under the front windshield. But I installed a window regulator on my oldest daughters BMW 318ti, then oldest son wanted to plasti dip his rims. We had to re-do 3 of them but they turned out good. eat dinner, it was dark outside so I just worked on my bike.

Can you guess what I plan to do today?

Oh yeah I forgot the spare car quit last night when I tried to put it up. :mad2:
