Drove it like I stole it

 

Today I took my car out on this great day sunny and beat on it to burn up zoom fuel and Meth. When I got home she got a nice bath and put back in the garage for waxing this week.

 

Drove a little 337 mile SE Ohio back road loop. Big fun in my little Blu car.

Now it's time for a full detail job.

 

Got it very dirty on a fun run with friends

 

Cute little one you have there Stefanie. Enjoy they grow up so darned fast.

I'm glad Mini Stef is feeling better.

 

Went to Orcas Island in the San Juan Islands, Washington for the weekend. 700 miles round trip including driving all the roads on the island (but not counting mileage riding the ferry). Changed oil (Amsoil 0-W30) prior to leaving. Washed and ready to go again.

 

Nick I've been told if you can feel a chip with your finger nail it is to deep to polish out. I've looked trough windshields that have been polished & they were sort of like a fun house mirror, lots of distortion. I may just buy another one so I have a brighter outlook on the world.

 

Took Scooter to lunch and fed him Flautas!

Needed that, then came home and mowed the lawns, again!

Back to warm here for a few more days.

Fall is about the best time for MINI time!

 

Never said it was "chip resistant", but it is much cheaper than OEM / Dealer glass.

Pilkington makes a quality product and is the standard for other car manufactures like Lexus. I have seen cheaper products that the laminate between the layers of glass separates and causes visual distortion. (Safe Lite)

 

The Pilkington is distortion free. Yes Dave you didn't say "chip resistant". That was just me adding a bit of info I thought might be helpful to folks buying a windshield. My MINI bonnet is not chip resistant either. :nonod:

One bit of advice, be there watching when your new windshield is installed. Years ago I had the glass folks come to my wife's work & install a windshield in her 4Runner. Of course she signed off on the job without seeing it. When I saw it. :shocked::mad5::incazzato: I took it to their shop & they replaced it. They were amazed at the carp job just like me. It was removed & re-installed correctly. Lesson learned watch them & if you see something that is not right have them make it right.

Drove my S over to Tim Horton's for the monthly breakfast...200 mile roundtrip! Great seeing people I rarely get to see. :ihih:

 

JCW Intake Flapectomy

 

I have one mounted on my Craven short shifter and am very happy with it.

Just finished replacing the interior and license plate lights with LED units. Replaced the courtesy lights in the door with Mini logo LEDs. Installed Pulsar circuit board in the third brake light circuit. My detailing guy is coming to the house tomorrow to spiff up the Mini and apply her winter coat of wax. Now, if I can get my son to return my Suburban I won't have to drive the Mini in bad weather.

 

Drove to work listening to an epic long version of Dark Star by the Grateful dead from a concert on 10/24/74. Good tunes can sometimes make for a better day.

 

Left it parked in the garage & did the day on SE Ohio back roads in my friends 996. Oh what a sweet drive that car is.

 

Wash, clay bar, machine polish 3, machine polish 4, Groits Paint Sealant. The Helmet is glossy.

 

Passed another mileage milestone.
