    Was a busy day today.

    Solo-Werks S1 coilovers
    Eibach/SPC front camber plates
    Dorman Rear Lower Control Arms
    All engine mounts
    R56 trailing arm conversion

    In 100* weather [emoji33][emoji817][emoji3062][emoji3062][emoji3062][emoji91][emoji938]

All went smoothly until I realized R56 hubs take a bigger lug nut...quick run to AutoZone solved that [emoji1787]

Some nice looking welds from Solo-Werks, I think they get their cores from ST/KW:

I have ST coilovers on my Mustang and quality looks exactly the same.

A relative stayed at my place while visiting and when they left, they left me some money in a Thank-you card. So I bought the license to Bimmercode. Now I can change everything in the Countryman and my kid's R56.

I took my car out for a run then came home and washed it. Then I tucked it back in the garage for two weeks.

Found a tire gauge at a garage sale last weekend. I took it to a place to get it calibrated and found it to be extremely accurate already. I don't think it was used much, if at all, The battery inside was still new and the sticker over the display window was still on it when I got it. I bought it for $2.

They're in! Hadda suck out quite a bit of fluid, the fluid was changed and at that time my front pads were worn down to the sensor (there was no notifications?). Also added another coat of black to the callipers and carriers. Did the initial bedding this morning, they got good n' smokey :D She'll get a bath tonight.

Upgraded from NM 22mm sway bar to the NM GT 25mm bar with new end links. Replaced the plastic Cravenspeed ProClip that the CS adjustable short shifter rides in with their new updated metal clip. Hadn't realized how much slop had developed until replacing the part. Shifter's tighter than a tick now.

The notorious stuck window. Passenger side this time. Thought the motor was toast. Twas just the regulator. Corrosion-seized. A new 1 was waiting in my parts bin.

FINALLY, after a lot of hunting, I secured this Type H Rear Diffuser. It will need some minimal prep as far as sanding, and paint, then have to sort out the mounting and hardware. I was told from AIT Racing that this may be the last one around, they had been sitting on it for a few years. Here's the product, and what it will look like installed.

Also have made some rear cutouts for the bumper, will get into that this weekend I hope.

    I did this today
    IMG_6985.JPG

Esoteric had a sale on micro fiber towels so I ordered two a few weeks ago. I thought they would be soft but will they really be better than what I get at AutoZone? Well howdy they are! they are super soft. I used one to dry The Helmet. I believe I will be ordering more.

    Nothing, giving it rest...…:)

Just got home from CMU 60 in Va, towed the Racing Green classic Mini out and back again without one bit of trouble, went over 92K miles now, averaged 25 mpg at 73 mph. That seems to be a good speed for the interstate, fast enough to get past the millions of trucks, but slow enough that the cars can whizz on past. Ran on the cruise control most of the way......about 2500 miles round trip including the detour to see my daughter and grandkids in North Carolina.

After nine years, it was time to change the original battery in my MINI. I put a Duralast G6 AGM battery in it, 760 cold cranking amps. It's made by Johnson Controls, I shopped for Johnson Controls batteries locally, this was the cheapest at $195.00. It fit just fine.

Drove the front up on Rhino ramps
and put on some Ultra Racing chassis
braces on this am. Lower front and lower mid.
Feels a bit more solid on rough roads
and a little quicker steering response on
good roads. You have to take the
plate under the mid exhaust off to put the
mid brace’s back 4 bolts on, but it’s much
more solid than the OEM plate that you
    remove.
About 2-2.5” tall, but tucked up so
I’m only losing a little more than an
inch of ground clearance, and I’m
not lowered, so no worries there.

pics are a bit limited as not much room to
get a good view on ramps.

I read an e-mail today from Motoring Alliance. That's why I'm here now. I haven't seen an e-mail from this site since who knows when. I've apparently been gone for some time now, as I had forgotten that I was a member here.

This topic struck a cord with me. Especially when one member said just today that they have done "NUTHIN" with there MINI.

Just over two months ago, I fractured my left shoulder in three places, so My better half did most all of the weekend driving. That's in the 05 R53. I haven't even tried to drive my Classic, as it is RHD, and requires shifting gears. That may happen this coming weekend, we'll see what the weather does, as the physical therapy is paying off in aces and spades.

I'll let ya'll know if that happens Monday.
