Just ordered a jug of 5w40 Motul X-cess (taking a break from Amsoil) for her upcoming oil change at 105k. TireRack next day aired me the correct strut for the left front, should be here when I get home and I'll throw it in right away. Git eR done.

Thank you. I did take a nap this afternoon. When I got up the Helmet got a well deserved bath.

Did some very minor body work the other day.

I've noticed that the compact tire that I transferred from my old R50 to the current purchase (2009 JCW Clubman) only went in to the well partway.
At first I chalked it up to a less square shouldered Kumho spare tire, but on further inspection, I found a subtle dent/crease in the
back of the spare wheel well. Then noticed that one leg of the rear plastic guide that attaches to the bumper is also snapped,
indicating a previous rear end/bumper incident (sold as "no accidents", but aside from these two things everything looks fine, so
I'll let them know that I know, but I won't bitch about it).

I used the compact spare wheel/tire as a rubber BFH to tap the dent back in a little, and the spare now fits easily into the
space for it as intended, and the tool tray that fits into the spare wheel and the cover now lie flat no longer stick up a little.
No cracked paint or undercoat or anything worrisome so I'm happy.

Yup I just need to pick up solid large rotors an new SS lines. I am not going to run the OEM drilled and slotted ones. The G-Locks will make more of a difference than the rotors. I am not tracking the car so no need for those “fashion” OEM drilled and slotted rotors.

I'm really embarrassed to tell you all, but I washed my car today. When I got done there looked to be a film on the whole car, no matter where I looked. It truly looked cloudy. I went over it with a really soft MF towel. Still cloudy. I cleaned my glasses...all is right with the world.

Washed the Helmet today. No unlike @Goldsmithy I did not have to clean my glasses:D but I just found out it is going to rain tonight with a chance of hell. It’s parked outside

Ok got up early the rain was gone so I dried off the helmet, it still looks nice and clean!

@Qik where is this rod you speak of? I looked on the Helmet but the heat shield was in the way so I looked on my wife's S and still didn't see it. Could you post a picture?

Um, I hate to say it, but that is probably as exciting as driving Katharyn Hepburn's Crown Vic... or John Lennon's beige Mercedes station wagon.

I am probably going back to Sarasota in two weeks to shoot a Yenko... something. I don't know what it is, yet. They better have Sir Paul's Mini running by then. That was the ONLY car from that collection I really wanted to drive.

My MINI is home for the weekend. I'm shooting a 1962 Shelby Cobra on Monday in Central Texas. I could charge my customer for a rental car, but I'm thinking I'd rather take my MINI for a few hours of some two lane country driving.

Changed the cabin microfilter (one pleat slightly chewed and a tbs of small 1/8" seed husks as evidence of critters in the previous owner's garage).
Changed the engine air filter - not too dirty but enough to do it while I had the cover off.
Pulled the windshield washer pump behind the wheel well liner - lots of leafy debris in the fluid that poured out from the bottom and a bit of grunge on the gasket/strainer.
The washer had been a little intermittent and pretty wimpy, now it’s reliable and sprays with much stronger streams.
I was going to order a new pump but glad now that I didn't and instead simply addressed the underlying problem.

That’s what I’m counting on. I’m not in a big hurry, mainly because it’s too hot to ask my son in law to swap coil overs. :D
Only problem is I have three or four people in line waiting for the BC Racing coil overs that the same SIL just installed a couple months ago.
Oh well. If I only learned one thing in the years I spent in the USAF, it’s that I’ve gotta have something to bitch about, otherwise I’d feel “Abby Normal”. :Nailbiting:

Hope y’all had a great weekend.

Ouch I'm sorry that happened to you. Even though you had bad luck you also had good luck. That could have been so much worse. A pox on the idiot who did that.

Sea foam treatment via BSH pcv vacuum port to
delay the inevitable walnut blast further down the road.
Half a can sucked to the intake manifold and
put the other half in the gas tank.

Today nothing with the Mini's. Wednesday I did wash the Helmet and put it up in the garage under its cover. Thats brings me to a complaint. We have new neighbors across the street, nice people. They have 4 kids like me and there for are car poor. I am glad I am not the only one. Anyway the city came through and patched the potholes and repaved the whole neighborhood. Nice clean smooth. So the guy across the street puts in a circular driveway last week. The workers made the whole cove muddy I mean where you couldn't see the pavement. You know how long it took cleaning mud from the Helmet. I have been gone 3 days and its still a mess.

I know I am a grumpy old man! but when they put in the driveway the workers pressure washed their driveway out in to the cove. I wish they would have washed the cove down just a little. No the rain is not getting rid of it.

    End of rant!:D
