Dynaplugs (or more basic diy plugs in the
past) have saved my ass (as well as wife’s
and neighbors’) many many times over
the past few decades. Only once out of
dozens of plugs did I have problems with
    durability of a plug.

Yes, but the 205/50 is just a little taller than
    I’d like, 205 vs 215 is a pretty small
difference, and the Michelin 215/45 is only
21# compared to 23# for all the others
I considered (despite being XL rated), and
i’ve had good experiences with the X-ice xi3 (XL)
    on two previous cars.

205/55/16 almost always works without rubbing even though it's a little oversized. 205/50/16 is a little undersized.
215/55/16 is a little taller yet and ay, there's the rub.
Try without the spacer, if it doesn't clear the struts and springs on the inside, maybe try a smaller spacer, 5 or 6 mm?
If still no luck, then either change to 205/55/16 or trim the wheel well plastic where it rubs or put up with the rubbing
until it trims the well for you.

Overnight temperature in the Vancouver BC (Canada) area was around 2C or 39F. Recommend temps for winter tires is from 7C and down. Daytime temps still get up to around 12C here so your summer tires will still work if you stay in the Vancouver area.

Could be worse. You could go further east, say to Calgary today and get this:

I took my car outside yesterday and parked it outside overnight.

I had a fulll detail and coating of a Infinity M30s yesterday. I needed the garage to “bake” the coating to cure it under my special lights over night.

Looks like next week I will be getting a pearl white Aston Martin DB9 Volante for a full detail and coating.

Used Gyeon Q2 prewash then the their Q2 trim on all the black exterior plastic today
(except for thetwo front grills - does anyone do them?? For the time it would take to clean,
apply, and wipe into all the nooks and crannies you might as well just buy a new part!).*

Pretty easy to do the rest except the foam strip came off of its brick about 1/3 of the way into the
application step, making itjust a little harder. Looks pretty nice now, and hopefully will stay that way
    for a while.

    * I'll bet Dave.0 has a method of doing this in less than half an hour

The black exterior plastic on my car gets treated with Rust Oleum's Wipe-New. Love the stuff. Lasts forever and even months after application looks like I did it yesterday and water beads off like crazy.

I drove my Gyon Mohs treated Electric Blue in the rain to Menards today. Reason was to buy threaded rod, bolts washers etc to build a freaking ghetto press to remove stubborn Subaru Outback rear wheel bearings that have tested my patience for too long.

Aww, It probably melts a little on the way home, but I'm sure that you have a bucket of red frosting in the garage to fix her up again, when you get home.

I used it to kill a smoke alarm.

2AM: The time when smoke alarms are programed to malfunction.

    "Chirp" (very loud, BTW)

    "Chirp"

    "Chirp"

    First F-bomb dropped.

Go to the garage, get a step-ladder (my ceilings are all at least ten feet).

Replace back-up battery (my smoke alarms are hard wired).

    Go back to bed...

    "Chirp"

    "Chirp"

    "Chirp"

    Barrage of F-bombs.

Take the battery out, deciding to deal with the problem during the day.

    "Chirp"

    "Chirp"

    "Chirp"

    Seriously??? F-bomb Armageddon!

But, you can now say that you know what a smoke alarm looks like when run over multiple times by a MINI Cooper.

    Smoke001.jpg

It has chirped it's last "Chirp."

Update on today and my MINI... I bought new wiper blades. The old ones worked, but were incredibly loud. That happens here, a lot, as they get hard from all the summer heat.

I went to O'Riley's and jokingly asked the guy at the counter if they had sold out of wiper blades. He seriously answered, "It depends on what size you need."

Seattle and London have nothing on Dallas, right now. The rain just won't stop.
