The dealer is trying, but they are under new ownership and I see them buried in their own bureaucracy and new business processes. All of this could have been handled a lot quicker and require less of my own intervention under their previous ownership.

The part could have been ordered a lot sooner and all of the parts they needed could have been procured ahead of time. Instead, I had to go the insurance company to pick up the PO and give it them. They ordered a part, installed it, then ordered more parts that they needed to fix the car when all of it should have been ordered at the beginning.

Happy to have our car back now, but not happy that it took so long. I still have to go back sometime this week to complete the insurance papers. Whereas, under the previous ownership, they would have had all the paperwork done and I just had to sign off and be done.

Tonight, the family will play the MarioKart drinking game on our Wii...at home. Much safer than doing it out there on the streets. If you're going to drink tonight, don't drive on the real roads.

    Happy New Year, everybody!

My driveway is gravel, so it wouldn't matter. I change my oil on my neighbor's garage hoist. He got it for free but he had to dig it out of the ground when they demolished a local service station.

He and your family will be in my prayers. When the time is right tell him a stranger says thank you for your service. We live free because people like him.

Don I'm so very sorry for your families heartache. Best thoughts & wishes are being sent to your Son-in-law for a complete recovery. Also to your family during this time of hardship.

Actually, it isn't a loaner. It's our other car that I let the wife drive....the family car.

    Don,

I don’t know what to say so I will just echo Lee’s post above.

Thanks for the info Don. I continue my hopes and prayers for his recovery. I know he has a hard road ahead of him and it's gonna take all he's got, and the support of his family and friends to travel it.
Best wishes to you and the rest of your family my friend.

The rain gods were angry so I washed the MINI....
The gods were impressed and produced hail and moderate lightning... now it is humid.
MINI is in the garage and the beer is in the fridge [emoji106]

Call Steven at eMINIparts & see what a set of oem struts & shocks cost. Yours lasted 100,000 miles. Bilstein also makes a decent strut. Tire Rack seems to have the best price on them.
