I haven't done anything with my MINI in at least a month, other than drive it and put gas in it. I think I've only put gas in it once. But, at least my MINI has spent its downtime in my garage, and not parked at DFW Airport, like almost all of December.

That little turbocharged engine does enjoy those 32-degree mornings.

All that we've done with the family MINI is drive it to add more miles & coat it with salt. Tomorrow it's supposed to go up to 40 & rain. Guess I'll park it outside for a mother nature warsh.

The GTI sits in the warm dry garage all clean & shiny. :)

Good point, I can look into putting a Canadian flag on it for our Canadian members.

Luckily after 14 years my mods are finished! I just tweak, maintain and re-install or remove mods as needed for the event.

I bet it fouls the brake calliope. These dount spare wheels need to be test fitted before one needs them in a pinch. I had a MINI one & it saved me in deepest darkest Iowa one night.

Looking forward to the rest of the story beken. Glad you survived.

I am interested if they keep it close to the concept, but it looks like now they are not doing that. I don't want a car with fake stuff hung on it either. I am still waiting to see.
I know its 300 at the crank. If it starts there I bet a whole lot more is left on the table. Dave I know your R53 has more HP but it didn't come cheep. I looked at building the R53. I stopped adding when it went north of 11 grand. And that still is not close to the mods you have done. The Mistress is truly an awesome R53 but don't forget how much work you have put into it.

I am sure it will be some where in the 40k range, yes that is insane but...a Mustang GT is 36 and quickly goes to 40. A RS is 41. Even trucks are 40k now.

The guy who bought the car brought it to his local dealer, and they offered to fix it under warranty for him.

RMW axles, custom suspension, OS Giken super locker LSD, light rims and super sticky tires. Also, to make it stop I already has a JCW full BBK with G-Lock pads on the car now. I currently have all the components now and they are bought and paid for. My car is currently already 130+ bhp over OEM 170 bhp rating and I am putting 270 WHP to the ground now.

The RMW 1.62 motor that is going in next fall has already been broken in and only has 1,500 miles on it since 1000 mile break in was done and it was dynoed at 464 WHP with a Turbo. (I am not going turbo)

The motor is fully Forged, rods, pistons with custom rings for a perfect seal, balanced crank, king tri-metal bearings, all ARP fasteners with RMW oil baffle,

Topped off with my current RMW BVH after a refresh valve job, RMW my Grand AM CAM and a TVS 900 with electric water pump.

Sorry about your pooch. Hope he gets well soon.

Yes you need struts front & rear. Yours are very old with lots n lots of miles. As far as the squeaking goes, hard to tell. Might be the struts or something else.

I gave you a rear set of dampers. Damp it all anywho justa call Chad & have him send you a set. He will know what you need. To further cornfuse things I'd call the rear ones coil over shocks & the front struts, but what they are called does not matter. ;)

    Fronts cost more than rears......

Changed the fuel filter in my April 07 R56 S
    75000kms. Filter was pretty putrid......
I would just like to say that getting that fuel tank gasket back in is not a job that I look forward to doing again anytime soon!
Like anything I guess, easy when you know how... and with the power of hindsight, first time was always going to be a BiTc# I guess.

Greased up the RSB bushings last night so she don't bind up and break. Remember, if you're dry they're dry..... Every 6 months or so.... Also, The H-Sport grease zerks are garbage and will be replaced in 6 months.

Pretty fortunate that you didn't have a big hot turbo fire. Should be an easy fix for you.
