Been trying to figure keeping the interior lights off when door opens. Bud told me to do the Bimmer thing of long pressing the dome light switch....light turns off, comes back on & off after a few secs, then release. Of course, it worked.

She's got her new pump and all it cost me was $340! I don't understand why the HPFP went from $900+ down to about $350-ish, then back up to $1000+. But I'm glad I didn't have to pay for it because I wouldn't have bought the OE part, a Bosch branded pump woulda been stuck on her no question. I will say this customer service experience has me wanting to stick with the brand though.... I can't go with fish face, just can't sand how they look... But I did test drive a 2018 Countryman S or WHALE (as Colin calls them) and loved it. Feels very similar to my Cooper but A LOT smoother over bumps.

Took the R50 for a spin and it ran well. Unfortunately, my wife's S...the one that got the radiator brackets replaced in Sept., has a broken front one again. She is the only one driving the car, so I know she's been slamming the car straight into our 4" driveway lip and broke it and the plastic right behind the spoiler. So, now it's off to get yet another bracket installed [as well as the plastic fixed] and I hope it can be fixed before Christmas, as we have a family gathering in Columbus Christmas Eve Day and the plan is to take her car there. I taught her the correct way to enter our driveway [at an angle but slowly] and hope to God that that old dog has learned a new trick! Unfortunately, her S has an aero kit front end and I just know more abuse is on the way...GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR.

I think you need a 4x4 with better approach & departure angles. Either that or hire a concrete company to fix that monster curb you have to jump to get in the drive.

At my old house my garage was off the alley in back. It was such a tight turn that in order to get the race car (with welded diff) in the garage I had to go pretty damn fast & grab the hand brake. Perfect turn every time. ;)

Here at the old folks home it's easier to get into the drive & garage. The garage is smaller though, only two cars. The old one could easily do three. Such is life we get old & downsize. :Dead:

I live out in the boonies, at the end of a mile long dead end, we don't have sidewalks and curbs. It is my responsibility to grade the end of my 200' gravel driveway to match the edge of the road.

If the Trumper really wanted to make this country great again, fixing the roads and other infrastructure should be right at the top of the list, not building a fucking wall.

In Maryland if a tire (snow or otherwise) is seven years old no one will install it. Doesn't matter how good of shape its in.

Don't let my comments dissuade you. It is a fantastic car, power, comfort, handling and all... Seriously nice but, not a JCW feel... That is really what I compared to. My License plate says GOKART and that says it all... Let us know what you think. Curious mind... Thanks.

Spent yesterday dying the wheel arches, skirt and trim with Forever Black. Pleased with the outcome, time will tell. I would suggest to anyone that gives it try to use the sponge brush supplied just for the top edges and seams, it left streaks on the flatter portions. I pulled out a 2 inch sponge roller, no streaks and a better finish.

Drove the Helmet to get oil filters for the two minis then to the parts store for a filter for my truck and oil for all three of them. The truck takes 8qt......thats crazy!

I may switch over to Amsoil

I buy mine on sale at Wally World & then use the Mobil 1 rebate. Worked out to $12 for 5 quarts of M1 0w40 last time. Many good oils out there these days.

Oh boy we started another oil thread. LOL!!! :Whistling:

They needed to be replaced so I was looking for something that was a little different and wouldn’t break the bank. I am not thrilled with how far the reverse lamp extents out, probably end up going back to oem.

Pretty easy and straight forward. Like with most things, prep took the longest, Although it does suck up a lot of material, I think the foam roller is the way to go if you re looking for that factory look. Hopefully I’ll have time To give it a wash this weekend and then I will try some trim conditioner-protectant to see how it holds up.

Thanks for the source Qik. I gave up on WRR a long time ago.

I guess ute was the wrong term. What I meant was cute baby suvs. Been quite a while since I've seen a Red Bull MINI El Camino.
