Thanks for looking out for GIR . It has been my DD for 11 years and you can tell. It has a few nicks here and there. Seats, driver’s anyway needs to be reupholstered, wheels resurfaced and just noticed I need to replace the seals on the side views mirrors. Still a blast to drive though

said screw it and got the schrader RSD kit, arriving tomorrow. The cost was worth the time saving right now, so I'm not too worried. Still have used the template that I made for laying out the sound deadening that will go on the underside of the lid. Seat wells are good to go. Nothing left to it but to do it.

With the seat out, I noticed I had some chatter from the seat belt male end clinking against the panels, so some cheap ole beer coozies went to live another life.

For sure, 110%. That's this weekend "project", lol. I was sure that I had the tubing already, but it was too large.

On Thursday, I drove my S to where my relatives are buried and decorated for the Holiday Season...a 400 mile all day roundtrip with numerous detours. It was a great ride in equally great weather [about 78 degrees, which is a rarity in OH at this time of the year]. I was about 30 miles from home when some cabron in a wide-tired pickup threw a rock into my windshield. Monday looks to be a repair day and the weather will be about 30 degrees less than it was on Thursday. Asi es la vida.

So I dropped off the R56 tonight to have a scope tomorrow and maybe the walnut blast and the 2 VVT solenoids changed out and we will see about the idle after all that lovelyness!

More yesterday than today, went to lunch (local Italian) with sweet wife, had a nice calzone and salad, slice a pizza and salad for my skinny wife. :). I will regret that statement. Anyhow after short spirited drive brought the JCW home for a hand wash. I am using Mother's wash and shine ceramic, it is good when on brand new paint, brings it up nice and gets the dirt off safely. Bucket wash, no foam this time. And the JCW 20 Clubby showed 666 on the odometer. At this rate I will get to the track in the Spring of 2021, but I have been invited to some open lapping, resisting is hard.

Enjoy the day, mask up and ignore the TV and Cable stuff today.

    Don

New windshield for my S today, as the chip repair failed and the old windshield started looking like a spider's web. Fortunately, my insurance paid for it all.

Finally got out for a bit of a run, been a while, but it was a great way for me to stay socially distanced (immunocompromised), while out with some folks.

The only MINI in our stable that doesn't get snow tires is the R50. The 2 R53s get snow tires. The R50 stays inside during snowy, slushy weather.

Ummm, THAT'S why I'm getting the snows on my S Friday morning. Francie's car stays outside, and she's not driving much now, anyway, so her car can keep for a bit [like next week]. Besides, I love, l-o-v-e, LOVE driving in snow and can take her wherever she feels she has to be.

That is so true. In the snow and ice, the additional traction is very noticeable. But once it warms up, the softer rubber does not grip dry pavement very well.

This shot is from a few years ago.

You can have all that snow all you want. I don't have that problem. I have to drive about 100 miles to even see snow and that's fine with me.

Ok Ohio guys, no worries about snow. I just got done putting the snow shoes on Skooby. That means no snow will fall. :D

Sure glad I bought that battery powered impact wrench. :)
