I'm must be really lucky. I had the new tire installed today (they look good), but one thing went wrong. They broke one of the center caps. So I ordered some new ones. they come from the UK and cost $102.00 for 4 and you can only oder them by 4. Then I had to order the new cap decal for a other $65.00. Sometimes I'm not sure why I am so anal.

Yes, but I wont ask them to. they were 15 tears old. It's just hard to find replacements. Most of the companies I had dealing with don't seem to be around anymore. But I'll keep on trying.

Thanks; but I went on line and found a company that has what I needed. The big problem was the company that made the wheels went out of business a while back, but a new company started to make them again. So I'm good. My only thing is I have a car show on May 21 so it's going to be close to be ready in time. It usually take me a week to be ready to show.

I was going through some of my storage bins today. Dam it's amazing how much stuff you can collect. I have so many different kinds of polish's and wax's and engine parts plus several other things. The list is to long.

I signed up for mini meets west. Now it time to start getting Checkers ready it's only 2 months away. I got a new cold air intake, coolant expansion tank and several other thing to get installed before then. This should be the biggest car show I've been in.

Looked like a great turnout for such a blustery day.

Here we go again. I was looking over my new parts ( I've had for months) and find I need to clean a few things up. One the CAI need the ram air hole punched out and maybe power costed again. Two then the coolant tank chrome is poor so I'll get it redone. I wonder what's next. What's why I'm never done.

I signed up for Mini Meets West 2023 and booked a room. 5 days Should be fun. I'm going down a day early so I can wash Checkers and get ready for the car show. It's being sponsored by MOASF (mini owner's America San Francisco) so there should be a bunch of classic cars. MOASF is primarily classics minis.

Going to have to find a day in the next week or so to wash, claybar and wax my car. I just entered my car into the All British Field Meet at Vancouver's VanDusen Gardens.

    https://www.westerndriver.com/?p=14091

I hesitate because 17 years ago, they didn't want us to enter because our MINIs weren't British. Now that our cars a nearing collectible status (25 years old), they want us back.

Maybe maybe they told me 3 to 5 days from 11th. That me give me a little room. The car needs to be at the detailers on the 19th and at the show on the 20th. So that makes it a little short on time. With a bet of luck I should make it.

A couple days ago I put new black and white union jack mirror caps on my wife's mini. I also replaced one of her Highgate side markers.

The guy that told me, 15 years ago, that the R53 MINIs weren't British, apparently now owns one himself. I guess people do change as they grown up.

The older I get the less a great sounding Marconi set is to me. Can't hear very well any more.

You are fortunate the R53 uses a radio that is easily replaced with an upgrade. The radio in Skooby the clubster has the radio built into the speedometer. The lcds are fading away & there is no easy fix.

Just got back from the detailer's. Checkers looks great. First time this happened to me but a guy in a new Hemi Challenger at a stop gave me a wave. Now all I have to do is hang on tell Sunday.

I forgot to mention I got a new travel cover for Checkers. It fits pretty good. All the way to the ground. It also looks like a big comforter and it's waterproof.

Just a lot of cleaning and polishing, but there is always something you can do.

No work on the MINI, but I had a bit of fun with a new-to-me lawn mower..

Thought it would look good with a bit of paint.

It doesn't quite have go-kart handling, but it does have a go-kart engine.
