Well I went down to get Checkers smog. As I thought it passed everything but the visual. This is the first time I have ever had them put it on a rack. Most smog station don't have a rack so looking from the top everything is good. So now I'm looking to get a other exhaust header and cat. I have the original cat on the car but with the header it's 3 inches farther back than factory. Oh well back to the drawing board. At least I have 2 months to find what I need.

Thanks. The thing that really gets to me is Checkers pass the smog test. The tail pipe is good and so is the ECU. My header broke so I made one of my own. It has the stock cat so I really don't see a problem but that's the way it is. I'll find a stock header, have it installed, take the check put my old unit back on and go to a different smog shop.

If I'm going to do any paint correction on Skooby I will treat the plastic bits with Prima Nero before hand. That way any spots that find their way on the plastic trim come off pretty easily. I hate taping them up too.

We do the mail thing also. They won’t send me anything without a completed smog test in the system though. The county also required a safety inspection. They just recently dropped that.

It's American Graffiti weekend this week. It should be pretty good. They have car shows and drives down town that they do not allow normally. Should be fun, but it's mostly for American cars. Modesto is where they filmed the movie in 73. Their are a lot of hot rods and custom cars around here.

The one thing I miss about California is the cars. No shortage of old tin running around.

Definitely some body imperfections. It seems GIR and I have been going one for one in that department. I will agree with you though, not bad for 17

Well I'm feeling better about my smog problem. I found a new header that is CARB approved ad it's under 1k. I'll order it next week and get it installed after the car show on the 26th.

Ordered the new header and set up a date at the shop for the replacement. After the car show on the 25th. I don't want any problems before the show. It's running very well right now and with my luck lately something would.

I ordered it from a place called AUTOHAUSAZ. I found them online. They are the only one I could find that has a CARB number. So it's should good in California.

Found a new cleaner for rubber, plastic and vinyl. I tried a little and seems to work pretty good. You can get a satin or gloss finish by apply more than one coat. Now to get started on the engine compartment.

I took some picture, but they turned out fussy. One of this days I'll learn. I'll try for more today.

I won't know until tonight at the dinner. Then they will give out the winners of all the awards for CAR SHOW, AUTOCROSS and RALLY. They also give prize's for longest drive , direst car and a few others. It was nice to see so many cars. A lot of classics of all years and models.
