Got the repairs done 2 weeks ago.
Fine for a week and a half, then
the leak returned in the same vicinity.
The water pump, crossover pipe and
its gaskets, and the thermostat gasket
were teplaced, so I’m guessing the
    thermostat housing didn’t survive being
taken offand put back on again being so old.
It’s going back in Monday to get fixed again.

Picked this up for my 09 MINI Cooper...
The original OEM got me 9 years...
The second OEM got me 6 years...
Must have caught it just in time... The battery case had bulging sides but thankfully no leaks...
Went with an AGM battery this time...
Prices kept going up at the same time the life was getting shorter...

Well today I finished the snow tire project on Skooby the clubster.:D

A couple of weeks ago my sweetie took a rally turn in Skooby.:Stig: We refer to that type of turn as ditch hooking. While it works well on a gravel forest road it's not great in the city. A drain cover with a cast iron dagger on the end holed the right rear tire.:Dead: Got the call loaded up my car with the floor jack, impact wrench and spare tire. Had her on the road in 20 minutes.

Then the search starts for a spare Michelin xi3 snow tire. Seems they are no longer made. I didn't want a mismatched tire so I started searching on fleaBay. No luck, but after a few weeks of fruitless searching I found one. :) Dropped the new used one and the dead one off at Tire Discounters. He said it will be done in a couple of hours. Called them after about four hours and he says it's next, I'll call you when it's done. No call yesterday, but this morning he calls. Go to pick up the tire and he meets me in the lot with the tire. No charge since he said he didn't come through yesterday. How great is that? Feel like I've won the tire lottery. Now just waiting for snow next November...o_O

Taking the wife's car in for a wash at the detailer's today. They do an outstanding job. I'm not bad , but not as good a job as they do. I'll try and take some pictures. I got a new phone so I need to learn how things work.

More power in your hand than what we used to go to the moon. I got my Ham licenses last month, since I could not work I thought I would take the time to study for the test. Anyway, I bought this Ham clock that runs on a computer. It is a very small computer, like a Raspberry Pi. I am amazed something that small can do the things it does.

Have had a turbo side catch can for
a few years with the PVC side blocked.

Just put in a second one on the PVC
side. Didn’t want to route a new hose
to the manifold because it looks like
a pain in the ass to do, so used the
stock vent hose, but tore it messing
with it. Just as well, as when I taped
and sealed it back together, I changed
the angle at the top which made routing
from the catch can outlet to the top end
of the vent hose much easier and better.

BTW.. I am cleaning out my father-in-law's workshop.
Lots of small tools I dont have space for.
Offering up for free if anyone is interested in the Chicagoland area.
Was not really interested in shipping, but might be able to work something out

Packed the Clubman up to be a mobile tire change vehicle to help my nephew with a flat tire on his Ford Fusion.
What should have been a simple job was complicated by the wheel having different size lug nuts, so his car's supplied tool kit did not work.. I suspect they were mixed from a previous servicing on the car.

They need to change the MINI name there's nothing mini about it. I use to work for Honda in the 70's and they did the same thing. Started small and just keep making it bigger.

Replaced the failed left barn door switch
and patched the torn PVC to manifold hose
on my R55 (which is now actually a catch
    can to manifold hose).
