Sunday the wife and I went to craft show it was a good day together. When I was leaving they were having people drive off the curve where they had put a small metal ramp. The car in front of me about took off its front and read bumper, so I turned to go back the way I had got in. A cop staring yelling on his PA at that I have to go off the curb, I rolled down the window so he yells agin I must go down the curb. So I yell back Not this car, It won't make it!! As I drove off I heard him say "OK" :frown2::D

    Couple additions

Added a roof rack and blacked out the front end chrome last night :)
The wheels on my old CB7 on the bottom will be blacked out as well and put on the Mini once the factory wheels get shipped from my brothers house

Went to Cars and Coffee. Some nice cars and a decent turnout for as cold as it was. Saw my first Shelby GT350 delivered to the owner just yesterday and driven in from Detroit. [IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG]

Back home after 5 days on the road visiting family in St. Louis and friends in Kansas City, I think I totaled over 30 hours behind the wheel of my MINI. The car may be a teenager now, but it gave me no problems at all - it ran like a champ. For a lot of the trip I was off the interstates onto the back roads - you get a different perspective doing that. Plus, I found some great driving roads - I might post a video later.

2 mostly reliable vehicles with character trump an appliance vehicle.

It's a 2001, as usual head gasket blown, will be replaced before I get it. Head gone over, all new gaskets etc. All other normal bits that go on these are also being gone over. Bought off a couple guys that run a local Rover Shop called Mud Ruts, they also drive MINIs.

    It's got a V8!

I left with a full tank and drove around speed limit +5 and had no problems. This was from the relatively flat terrain of south central VA 260 miles to the mountains around Asheville, NC. I drove a combination of sport and mid modes. On this leg of the trip I averaged 36.6mpg and 69MPH. On the return leg I will use the green mode exclusively and see what a difference it makes.

    12/2
Just got back home. In the rain and less than optimal conditions I got 38.9mpg in the green mode. Averaged 65mph. I like the new cruise control. I set the speed and it stayed within 1-2mph even coming down the mountain today. On my R56 I had to run in 5th gear and still use the brakes on the long down grade. After the fog I ran into in the mountains I'm definitely enabling my rear fogs!

No, no they don't! I had to give a friend a ride home at 12:30 last night, and the drunks were out everywhere! They're easy to spot when you're the sober one!

But today: Took the Porker on my ritual morning coffee run... Attempted to start the Rat... Hooked the battery charger to the Rat for the first time since the new motor went in... Got it started, pulled it out of the shop so I could try and do some work, and it starts snowing! FML, back into the shop, and done for the day! [emoji20]

I really need more space, and a heater out there. [emoji12]

Did get a cool picture of my door though! [emoji2]
