Had a chat with Chad at Detroit Tuned about these blanks for fog and back-up lights after seeing them on a MINI they ran on their new dyno. I never knew such things existed! He's a super nice guy, very helpful and he managed to find a used set they had laying around the shop.

Went to my local MINI dealer and bought a new rear side marker light. Was expecting my customary discount, only to find that they have had a change in management in the parts and service department. Apparently any discount I have been getting is no longer valid.
Apparently, I'm going to be going somewhere else for my parts and service, going forward then.-

Gave GIR a bath yesterday and snapped a few picture of the new headliner.

My poor MINI is at the airport, very dirty and with a bent exhaust from last week (still not sure how to pad my invoice for that, but I'll get er' done).
I did shoot something kind of sexy today, a 1925 Bugatti Type 35A. Very garage worthy, Dave.
Yes, it is very real.

Sunday afternoon I got pulled over the cop said my tag was 2 months out of date on the Helmet! What! My wife the book keeper was with me and she felt bad that it slipped through, not her fault we didn’t get the renewal. Nice Cop he let me go, no ticket. It was late afternoon and I needed to go to work at midnight. I quickly put the new koni on the R53 and got it off the jack stands. Went for a test drive only to find the left strut was making a lot of noise when I turned the wheels. Great why a didn't I just get a pair to start with!
So the Helmet is put up in the garage filthy, the R53 is sitting in the drive way waiting a new strut and I had to drive the sequoia.-

It's been 3 weeks since my daughter put on new wheels and winter tires. I went and re-torqued all the bolts for her.
I guess I should show you what the wheels look like. I should have got them for myself.

With an impending snowstorm tomorrow (maybe, possibly, could be) I took advantage of today's 55+ temps to air up tires, check oil, fill the washer bottles, take off trailer hitch balls and fill the gas tanks of everything I own, including the genset.
You all may thank me cause all this prep pretty much guarantees sunny weather for the next few weeks!-

We got quite a bit of snow here on Sunday, and even tho they put down enough salt to empty the great salt lake and plowed all night it was still pretty snowy in places, and today I had to run an errand across town - there it was - the guy in the 350Z with his summer tires on trying to go up a very slight incline from a stop at the light.... I just cruised on by (in the Audi Allroad of course - I'm no dummy!)
The Michelins I put on the Clubman were supposed to be all seasons, but I haven't been happy with them in any season since I bought them, so when the snow hit I took it around the 'hood to check it out - and it was miserable. So it got parked and I grabbed the wife's Audi.-

From an LED? They are high beams and they are not on that long. Also I have had 55 watt HID’s in my OEM fog lights for 8-10 years and have not had any issues. Those are on every time I turn on my headlights.
The LEDs have a micro fan and big fins to dissipate heat from the bulb when lit. They run very cool and that is what you pay for when you get $200 LEDs with a lifetime warranty and not eBay $50 specials.
The HID bulbs I have in my custom retro fit head lights that are Bi-Xenons. This meaning I now have 4 high beams. The low beam HID runs at 35 watts which a cut off shield down. When I flip to high beams they get 55 watts of power and the bi-Xenon shield goes up makeing the low beam a high beam.
While this happens my regular high beams with the LEDs also come on making it daylight in front of me on the road for a long distance. Oh and the OEM fogs with 55 watt HIDs turn off with the high beams going on.-

Summer tires daily drive 17”?
I recommend the 215/45/R17
Michelin Pilot Sport 4S, or if on
more of a budget, the Continental
ExtremeContact Sport in 205/45/R17
(also availability in 215/45/R17 but
price is higher, about midway between
the two above).
If looking for a more extreme summer
performance tire, ask Dave.0 and he’ll
suggest the Dunlop Direzza ZII SS or
the ZIII.
If looking for an all season, maybe
someone else can suggest something
worthy to put on those forged extremely
nice Volks.-
