So....damn PCV Valve. Didn't realize how much havoc that causes on an engine, when its dirty. Was stalling and stuff. Cleaned it, and check engine light goes out. No cold starts, no rough idle, and runs like a crack addict.

    Finished my boost(map) gauge install.

    It's a obd2 multi-gauge from Amazon.

Currently displaying MAP in the center, coolant on bottom left, and IAT on bottom left.

The bar on the bottom shows RPM ans the dotted lines are shift lights.

Does anyone know where the IAT is being measured? Is it pre intercooler or post?

I know it' s super old, and I didn't want to bump the thread, but HUGE thanks to Dave!

    https://www.motoringalliance.com/threads/toggle-woggle.14060/#post-141779

Got the old toggle wobble, disassembled center console, got the panel out and the 3 tabs on the bottom literally fell out of the unit.

Sanded down the joining surfaces, and with about $.25 worth of JB Plastic weld, everything is back together and rock solid.

Since I have the panel out, I'm going to install the Ian Cull Auto Up circuit I've had for 3 years, and wrap the downtubes in the carbon fiber wrap like I did the dash. Might as well since it's all apart, and that gives me something to do tonight.

    Thanks again, Dave!!! Huge help!

I drove my car today. It was the first time in about a month.

I only went to Dr. office for a checkup but it was a fun ride.

This was actually a couple of weekends ago. Went motoring on Vancouver Island. There is a twisty mountain highway portion called the Malahat. Chased another MINI Countryman up the hill.

Then arrived at the ferry terminal at 2:00pm to catch the 2:30pm sailing back to the mainland. Turns out there was a very long line waiting to get back to Vancouver on the hourly sailings. We ended up waiting in line and finally got on the 8:30pm sailing. My previous record, 35 years ago, was 4 sailings.

Converted from lug bolts to studs and lug nuts. Installed new mounting brackets on my wing.

The MINI kept me busy all afternoon.
Rear brake pads (G-Loc GS-1) and
    plain coated Zimmerman rotors.
Did the fronts a couple months ago,
just getting around to the rears now.

Koni Sports rear shocks (set to 3/4 turn-
270 degrees from full soft). Plan to do
the fronts next weekend. Staying with
stock springs all around to retain decent
    suspension travel and ground clearance.

Boy, it’s hard to get that top nut on the Koni
even with a spring compressor and pushing down
    hard on the top mount.
The lock washer is thick and makes the nut want
    to cross thread.
I got one on after many tries and put the other
side on without the lock washer (very easy without
it). Used loctite and a few extra foot lbs for good
    measure.

Put the front Koni Sport (yellow) struts on
this am (rear ones went on last weekend).
Took a little while but no setbacks or problems
except for a half hour of unexpected rain about
2/3 of the way through the job.

Most water 80% slide right off for the rest I use my 200mph electric toro leaf blower. I use a leaf blower to dry my whole car because using dry towels crashes the clearcoat even when using microfiber towels.

Also, I am an old detailer and OCD so I hate all scratches.

Sweet wife, our Golden in the back and I logged 180 miles today doing a little fall leaf peeping in the Colorado Rockies, once I get the pictures off the camera I will post a link to some of the better, I enjoyed the drive, my wife enjoyed my camera and getting some nice shots. This was in the 2011, I think my PL feels a bit neglected but we try to keep the White Golden enjoying only one of the MINIs.

    Have a great week. Don

It's that time of year again. Yes the air is having a shrinkage factor due to colder temps. Yesterday this was sent from my sweetie. She left her clubster out overnight & the air shrank. All tires aired up & all is well for now.

I just returned from the shop. I had the right front wheel bearing replaced on my '06 MCSa, as I continue to prepare for next year's MOTD.

Jacked up the Helmet and found the rattle was the left coileover. the spring was loose. So I measured the right side and set the left the same. It still has a rattle but not as much as before.

Today, I'm getting rid of the POS BFGs that are on my S. I'm going back to the Nitto Neo Gens that served me so well when I was tracking my S, going Dragon slaying, and daily driving the car for over
35k. I guess I had a "Senior Moment" when I went to those BFGs...thinking that a warranted tire was a good tire. Those crappy BFGs were warranted for 35k and ride like run-rocks, are cupping and don't even have 20k on them. Good riddance, BFG!

400 mile roundtrip on the new tires,,,great day, but lots of rain. Those BFGs would have killed me but the Neo Gens proved their worth...in spades!
