The summer tires are so much grippier than the winter tires on a warm(ish) dry sunny day that I found myself doing generally 10 miles/hour (about 16) faster than I've been normally driving the last 3 months. But in doing so, I crossed another MINI milestone.



That's 100,000 miles and the MINI still feels like it's barely broken in. Thanks to the folks at Motoring Alliance,other forums and clubs and all you that attended AMVIVs I went to for being there with me.

 

Yesterday I led 28 other MINIs :wink:

My friend Kerry was gratuitous enough to let me use her MINI since Gizmo is still in the shop. Had fun driving the Camden Edition and squealing the tires in turns with the snow tires :biggrin5:





Stopped by my second 'home' too. Made for some fun pictures. Here's my friend Sheri...being Sheri lmao

 

Went to the Nurburgring and saw these.

 

Made my car faster by adding more red.
Hope to get everything put back together tomorrow..

 

Today I used the Easter Bunny to buff and polish my MINI.

I also put on my Summer wheels and tires.

 

Gave my Mini some new shoes for the summer time, and sprayed them white

 

I made some methane....

 

Took a little drive down the road and took advantage of 1/2 off on the milk shakes!

 

Now that all of the modified parts arrived from the states we started the rebuild, wossner pistons were put in last week

 

^^^ Dave.O will never ever put R56 calipers on his R53....

 

Complete detail of Dark Helmet....Dave.O style (full OCD) finished up with cleaning the grilles with Penetrol and Q-Tips. I worked while other MoM's hung out and drank beer. What's wrong with this picture.

 

JCW exhaust, my 13th exhaust (I was running prototypes for various manufacturers, including myself). Surprising how q-u-i-e-t it is now! Very pleasant.

 

Yesterday I picked up my MINI from our local MINI guru Anson. The new JCW suspender kit is stupendous, I mean wow what a difference it made on my high mileage MINI.

Today I took the Blu to the local alignment shop. Got a nice custom alignment done. I am a happy old fart!!!

I'll be thoroughly testing it out on Ohio back roads tomorrow. :smilewinkgrin:

 

Not today, but last weekend:
- Autocrossed with Mini buds
- 2 hour drive with JS Performance Motoring's guru
- Picked up handsome R53 that daughter bought and drive it home
- Began modifications on said R53!

We're now a (2) R53 family!

 

It has them.....you just can't see them unless you're wearing JCW Owners Glasses. You see Jim, justa glasses justa aren't strong enough to see the technology

 

The wife and I took a MINI trip to Utica Ohio.... Home of Velvet ice cream....



Had one of these...



Was stopped by the local out on 62 for driving enthusiastically...
I smiled at the officer... Asked him if he was having a good day and that it would really make my day if he would let me go with a warning....
He said "Nice MINI"... "Driving a little fast were you"... I agreed I might have...
He went back to the cruiser.... Did some checking... And returned with my license...
I got a warning... Thanked the officer... And we were on our way again....:ihih:

 

Busy weekend in the garage.....

Replaced the OEM damper, not bad shape for 63,000 miles....



With this.....



Replaced the tensioner as well..



Installed the new Pipercross JCW air filter...



Modified the RS Rennline RS style door pulls to fit the HK surrounds...



And color matched a set of door handle covers for Dr. Phibes...

 

Drove it to the first day of my new job...

 

Installed the freshly painted summer mirror caps on RDNZl.....Pure Red!



Finished color-matching headlamp rings and tail lamp rings on Dr. Phibes and blacked out the front grille....
