I am the "D" on OCD. :lol:

 

New wheels and tires for Max today-----the old Conti DWS that were warranted for 50K miles had about 20K on them and were down to the wear bars, so I switched to some Michelin Pilots - I actually bought them this past Feb cause they were on such a huge sale and they've just been sitting in my garage. With snow headed our way this weekend I wanted to get them on the road.....

About the same time as I got the new tires I also bought some "new" S-lites that were take offs in 2005 , I was going to use the old set for my track day tires but I've decided not to do any more track days.....at least with my Clubby.

I had my students at school doing the tire swap and one asked me what I was going to do with the old wheels - I told him clean them up and put them on Craigslist - he called a buddy and ten minutes later they were in the back of his car and I had a wad of dead presidents in my pocket! He even took the old worn out Contis - but they were better than what he had on his car, sad to say....

So I'm rollin some new rims and rubber and I didn't have to haul the old ones home to get rid of them - Winning! :cornut:

Took the wife in HER MCSa to Dayton today to see a musical and drove back in the rain that changed to wet snow, that turned to all snow...ahhhh, NOTHING beats a nice set of Blizzaks!

We are on the northern edge of the mess that is swinging thru the southeast. People here really cannot cope with much snow and we are supposed to see 3-5"...a catastrophe around here, but, I'm from northern Ohio and just adore driving in this stuff. Tomorrow, I'm taking the dog out for our walk in a country road accessible park. Can't wait to see how HER 16" Blizzaks run thru it all. If they go even halfway as well as my 15" Blizzaks, then Winter will be an almost Springtime event. :lol:

 

The first rule in owning a MINI means you are never done modding.

I took my MINI out today for carbon cleaning.
I went out for a nice morning drive and filled yup with Shell 93 topped off the Meth tank and blasted around a few back roads on my way to Delaware.

Now it time for a chicken cheesesteak and a Saturday afternoon nap.

 

And now I dont need to hold the sunroof switch for the 30 seconds it takes the thing to open and close, my windows now work with the door open, the nice LED fogs come on automatic with the headlights, and a couple other little changes BMW thought we wouldn't want.

 

Today I painted my speedo and the vent rings on each side. I also took apart the center power mirror switch and control knob and painted them black.

Next weekend I may tackle the silver stearing wheel center ring and 9 & 3 silver parts on the stearing wheel where cruise comtrol and radio controls are.

 

Oh thats disturbing! Shoulda photo chopped Jack Nicholson's face on it though.

 

Got my MINI fixed...no more thermostat leakage....woohooooo!

 

Well a little bit later I have to take my MINI out for a run to South Philly. UGH I hate driving in the city of Filth-a-delphia, but I am doing it to meeting up with a friend from Atlanta and taking him to get a "real" Philly Cheesesteak at Tony Luke's home of the real #1 Philly cheesesteaks period.

I can't let a friend to to the tourist traps that serve dog food like steak sandwiches with Cheese Wiz on them like Gino's, Pat's or Jim's. Barf :arf:

 

I took the longest route possible from MINI5280 HQ to the brewery down the street...

3 hours, 3 counties, 17 MINIs, and no sign of a Jeep...

Life is good!

So...if this lady (er, woman) is trouble why don't the cops do something about her? If the truth be known, the woman with the dog was probably on the phone and didn't see your daughter changing lanes because she was distracted.

 

Whoa...I'm sorry that happened to you and your daughter! I can only imagine how upset she was and how angry it made you. You don't bring your crazy down on a man's kids unless you potentially want to be on the receiving end of a smack down...

 

Following your kid home is way across the double yellow line! Sounds like you handled it like a true diplomat. That lady will likely get hers some day...

 

I washed my MINI today since I was off and it was over 60 degrees today. I also washed my wife Lexus Rx 350 or as I call it my Winter snow car. :lol:

I pulled the MINI in the garage, polished it and put on (2) layers of paint sealant and RainX'ed the window's.
