Just ran the Porker up to MINI of Loveland for a couple oil filters, (yes its time already) filled it up before I left, and over the 85 mile round trip I only dropped 2 candy corns of fuel!
Last time I made that trip in the Jeep I burned off half of the 20 gallon tank!
Now its time to fiddle with the new roof rack... Slight modification is needed, and its made of the thinnest aluminum I have ever seen used, but what do you expect for $80? It'll hold a few sleeping bags, air mattress's, and a case of beer.![]()

Cleaned mine as best as I could without using the hose...feel kinda guilty doing a full wash during this drought.

However, my Mini is still cleaner than 99% of the cars I see on the road.

Stayed home from work. Washed, Machine-Waxed with Pinnacle Signature Series II, Including wheels. Dressed exterior vinyl with MINI vinyl dressing. Actually I mixed it with Turtle wax vinyl restorer for extra effect.
Machine-polished Windshield with glass polish followed by Rain-X. Except for the small rock pits which you can only see in slanting sunlight, from inside the improved clarity seems almost as though there is no windshield.-

Took my S out for a spin in yesterday's frigid weather on the snow-covered back roads to see how my newly-changed tranny fluid was working. Ahhh, not even a hiccup!
I was so enthused that I stopped to let the dog romp thru the snowdrifts a bit before returning home. What a great day!
Thanks again, Best Motor Werks!-

Had mine on a flatbed to visit the Helix lads. Hopefully, my insurance company gets off their ass, and gets in there before the end of the week so they can start the repairs.
Before you all ask... on my way into work, I ran over a piece of cast iron that was lying right in the middle of the road. Didn't see it until it was too late. I certainly wasn't expecting the noise, or bumps, to be as violent as they were.

Not 100% sure which piece it was... because I started throwing them the second my hands touched them. But here's what they came from.

Some jack-wagon managed to move the pole off the road... but left some of those cast iron bits on the opposite side of the road, where they found my undercarriage.
Thankfully, the motor seems to have gotten off without a scratch. (Fingers crossed that stays the case.) The lower vibratecnics wishbone got bent with a direct hit. The fuel tank took a gnarly hit as well.

It didn't puncture it... but deformed it hard enough, that it broke the housing for the fuel filter in such a way that the fuel wasn't getting to the motor. (At least that seems to be the initial diagnosis)

I know the Check-less-mate is in good hands. But... this is not the way I needed to come back from a week long trip to Disneyworld. [emoji35]-

Rotated the tires, waxed the calipers, and test fit some new wheels.

On the way in to work today, I passed an F56 MCS (I believe the color is called Thunder Grey/black roof and stripes).
Driver was staring at me (R53 MCS Black-eye purple - aka Purple Haze) so I waved at him and he waved back.
I decided maybe there's hope for the owners of current generation MINI owners yet.

Not so much what I did with it, as what I did for it. I ordered my new front brake calipers this afternoon and hope to finally have the upgrade completed in the next couple of weeks.

I'm sorry to hear Dave. With it being sunny and around 70 here today, we took the R53 for a little cruise. Nice to have the roof open and the wind in the hair! Well, her hair anyway...

I went outside, noticed the cherry blossums are out and went out for a drive. Put on over 400kms motoring last week. :biggrin5:

also had a front wheel bearing replaced. MINI stealership loaned me a stretched MINI.

While most of you shoveled snow, or just stewed over the never ending cold weather, we went shopping at Lowes... Let the Spring planting begin!
