Nothing major, but I liked the carbon fiber wheel for ages and finally found a way to make it happen

Getting closer to test fitting! If I didn't have to go drink margaritas tonight I'd be able to make some progress...... Choices... These bad boys showed up today (if you need some nice hose clamps or intake type tubing, give intakehoses.com a shot. Everything is made in the U.S.A.) Also, Dave! Your tires made this months cover :)

I picked up some garden stuff at Lowe's. That included two 2X4X8 cedar boards. A guy got out of a Ford crew-cab pickup, and actually stopped to watch what I was going to do with those eight-foot pieces of lumber. Well, I folded the back seats down, and gently put them between the two front seats, from left to right. Then closed the hatch. I looked at him, and he said "WOW" He basically did not see that coming. He even asked me to clarify that those were eight-foot-long boards.

Part of being a MINI owner is educating the public.

BTW, those same boards won't fit in the bed of an F150 Crew Cab with the tailgate up.

    No Mini news.......but
Saturday I had the roof saga. You would think that was bad enough. Sunday at 6:30am my wife gets a call from my 19 year old daughter. She is 100 miles from home by herself on the side of I40 with a flat!!! New tires. Well I hit the road with my V1 and the red Mini. I was about 40 miles away from her when a Highway Patrol came and changed her tire. today we went to discount tire and they replaced the tire.
So I guess I did do something with my mini. I took it on a high speed road trip.

No roof yet. Maybe they will be her tomorrow.

As long as MINI owners are ignoring BMW / MINI stupid recommend oil change intervals and are changing oil every 3-5k every motor should be ok.

I don’t care how much oil is what kind each person uses, we still we all still need to change it because even though oil technology may have advanced over the last few decades. Filters are still made of paper.

Taking mine to the Goodyear Tire center in a few minutes. Having a set of Eagle F1 asymmetrical 3 summer tires installed and getting the alignment checked after installing the new coil overs.

Thanks Dave...as soon as I picked my jaw up from the floor after seeing the GREAT job Dave did on Pepper, I drove about 9 hrs. home. Not one drop of rain and sunny most of the way. I came home to 2 big boxes of MINI swag and memorabilia that I found on line. It will be on display at the M/A tent at the Dragon. I have an idea, but I have to talk to Sully first....

The MINI stayed home today. Me and my wing-poodle finally got a little time with decent weather for a drive in the best Ferrari ever -- one somebody else paid for. I enjoyed the drive, while he was looking for bitches (that's PC, since he is, after all, a dog, and that's the appropriate term for a female dog).

Turned my work laptop in at 9 this AM and was told it'd be 8 hours to swap the hard drive and remove McAffe. So, I came home and finished the car! She's all waxed. F'n finally. I still may put another coat of some, final wax I guess? The more I get into this detailing world the more I learn how little I was actually doing to maintain the paint on my car. Here's the wax I just ordered to finish this project, so far I'm a fan of the Chemical Guys products I've used- https://www.amazon.com/Chemical-Guys-WAC_201_16-Butter-Wet/dp/B00FALVU8A/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1523400431&sr=8-3&keywords=chemical+guys+butter+wet+wax

The MINI didn't go anywhere. But, there is a place in Dallas called the "Addison Toll Tunnel," that is where every motorhead goes to listen to their new exhaust mod. I had to take the Ferrari for service today, and the Addison Toll Tunnel was only about five miles out of the way. I would have pissed off some people approaching the tunnel at 30 MPH, if they didn't know what I was going to do. It's pretty much SOP. They knew exactly what I was going to do.

There is nothing quite like the sound of a V8 Ferrari blasting through a tunnel. If I could make my MINI sound like that, I'd easily part with a thousand bucks. Oh, it was a Ferrari Spyder, and the roof was down.

I did it again on the way home. I think I might have scared a driver coming the opposite direction. I hope not, it wasn't my intention.

Last night I got the Helmet out and took my wife to dinner. She wanted to take the Helmet, even though the Runt was nice and clean. She said it was because of the BIG spider that walked across the windshield the other day when I was driving the Runt. It crawled out of the headliner right in front of me and then into the side airbag on the drivers side. Its still loose in there. Yes it really is bug.
Well thats her excuse, I think she just digs the Helmet. :D

Picked up the MINI from my shop after having brakes and coolant flushed, finally got my DT bypass valve installed (NO MORE YOYO!), new timing chain tensioner, new metal thermostat housing and thermostat, and replaced my axels with the RMW ones.
    Good times ahead!

I used to have a IASCA sound competition car back in the day loaded with MB Quarts, 2 JL Audio 12’s in a bandpass (4) HiPhonics Amps and 4 way electronic cross overs and a 32 band EQ both by HiPhonics, I had a Richard Clark audio noise gate and two 1 Farad caps with an Eclipse Heat unit and lots of Dynamat all came to 490 watts at 4 Ohms. We were all rated at 4 ohm ratings and I was in the 250-500 watt class but had a total of 1,050 watts and 2 and 1 ohms. This allowed me to win lots of 1st place trophies and I came in 3rd at Nationals.

Nowadays I still like my music but on a less grander scale. I installed an Alpine Headunit that has no CD player but is a media unit and has a very high output voltage for low signal to noise ratio. I have a nice iPod Classic 160 in the glovebox hard wired to the HU. I have 3 pair of audio quest rca cables running to the underside of my rear seat delete to 1 Alpine digital 900W by 5 amp. One output feeds 500 watts to a JL 10-W3. The other 4 outputs feed 100w to the other locations. The rears are just 2 Infinity Kappa 2 way 6x9s in the factory location. For the fronts I went back to high end speakers and got a set of Focal ES 165KX2 separates with passive crossovers. I hand applied Dynamat to my Mini covering the entire floor, inner and outer doors and rear quarters. When the music off In my car, it is as quite inside as my wife’s Lexus.

I like my music crisp, clear with the full spectrum on sound which does include bass. BUT I don’t like big Boom & Tisk sound systems where you only her cymbals and big bass drums from 4 blocks away.

We've been going through the my old R53. Now that the new header (Thanks Thumper) is on, and waiting for the sprintex sc to come in, it's exciting to see things coming back together. New header got ceramic coating last week, as well as a bunch of other bits and bobs, new rear trailing arms from an 06 are on, new hubs, axles, dampener, chain, oil catch can, stainless tanks...fuel system has been gone through..subframe is cleaned up with new lines, shield, and tie rod ends in...all sorts of stuff. I need to get the pics off my phone and onto the pc.
