Got back from Wisconsin last night. Put about 2k miles on her since last Wednesday with 0 issues the whole trip! Also a 14 hour trip in one day isn't so bad :)

Still waiting for my RMW coil overs. Jan’s suspension guy is in Europe and they’re still working on the camber plates. I reckon that’s the downside to getting the first set of 3rd Gen coil overs. Ordered them 5/26.
Anyway, I took the Mini out for a spin today. First time it’s moved in a couple of weeks.

I drove back from Central Texas on I-35 today, AKA "NAFTA Highway." At least half of the vehicles on that road have 18 wheels. Both directions, BTW. My car was filthy. I got it washed, and cleaned the interior myself. Somebody opened their car door and left a mark on my driver's door, but it was their paint, so it hand-buffed out easily with some Meguiar's #7.

I photographed a sweet car yesterday. A 1962 AC Cobra. It should fetch close to a million bucks in Monterey next month -- possibly over that. Shout out to a fiend, Jeff Snyder in Taylor, Texas, who did the restoration.

There must have been a dust storm at DFW airport while I was gone. My MINI, and all the cars around it, was covered with a layer of fine, tan dust/dirt when I picked it up at the airport last night.

My fridge has several "science projects" going on. So, I need to get the car washed, and re-stock the fridge with food with no fur on it.

Turn on radio and crank up some AC DC an take it out for a good drive to get it really warmed up.

Back in Black would be a good song for the Helmet.

Cleaned up my dash cam installs. The rear gave me a bit of trouble but I think I have it sorted now. Yes I drilled a hole behind my 3rd brake light. #worthit

Sorta MINI related... I will be 75 on Aug. 17 of this year. I am making arrangements to leave on the 16th., drive to Detroit Tuned, and have an RMW shorty header installed, along with some other work. That is the weekend of the big Detroit cruise in on Woodward Blve. where I will spend Saturday. From there I will drive to Lakeside, Oh and spend a few days on Lake Erie. I know some wonderful driving roads (scenic),not like the Dragon. My family has had a cottage there for 40 years and know all the great spots like the Civil War cemetery that is fun to visit. This is a perfect birthday for me. If anyone is in the area and wants to get together, let me know.

Happy Future Birthday Teddy. Sorry I will not make it to Detroit for the Woodward event because I will be drinking cold beers in Key West with the wife.

Today being the first day of the month, the dealer called and said the deal, for the F60 Countryman I was considering, is off. There were some really good financing terms on a 2018 demo Countryman. It was a July only offer. I was taking my time because I wanted to check with my financial planner if I had enough to swing for a Countryman Cooper S. That's too bad for them. I don't need to be rushed into a deal. If those cars we were considering are still there at the end of August, I'm sure the deal would be better for me. It's not much more of a stretch for me to factory order a 2019 model. But I'm not financing or leasing my cars. I don't like being in debt and making payments, especially on a depreciating asset.

Alternatively, I can go talk to the other MINI dealer in my area. But there are reasons why I find it difficult buying a car from them too.

Stay tuned....this might be a long drawn out saga.

Drove my Racing Green classic to a KC Mini Club meet up at the local Sonic, and in between T-storms, I (well my car) won a $75 gift Sonic card. Since I will NEVER be able to eat $75 worth of Sonic food I donated the card to the club. :)

About ten years ago, I attended the East Texas Police Academy driving school for three days, to gather information for a magazine article. The instructors told me that ANY cop worth his paycheck can guess your speed, without radar. All they have to do is claim a speed that sounds reasonable, and people generally accept it.

Used my Schwaben/Foxwell scan tool to do a full scan on all the non-OBDII codes (sunroof, rain sensor, and a few others came up) and cleared them.
Most were related to old problems that had been fixed in the past.
None have come back except two rain sensor related ones, E735 no message RLS wiper speed, and A129 JBE no adaptation to window glass (RLS),
which come back right after clearing them.
After a lot of futzing including checking the fuse (ok) and re-seating the connector and cover to the sensor properly, the codes are staying off and the
rain sensor/wiper function now works (no wonder I couldn't figure out how to make it work correctly before).

Got it dirty:( Never fails, I wash GIR and then it rains. I almost made it a whole day with a presentable MINI.
I did get my parts on order so there is a plus.
