Took her out for a run to Delaware so I could stretch her legs and pick up a new TV for my wife office.

Swapped the Koni FSD shocks for Koni Yellows.
The lowering springs were indeed not good for them. After two and a half years, the fronts were still OK, but the rears were shot. Still the Yellows are going to be a better fit in any event.
Sadly, there’s a clunk somewhere now that I have to chase down. I suspect I need to check the torque on one particular bolt. It was giving me a bit of trouble and I’m thinking replacing it will clear things up. Sadly I do not have the energy today to chase it down, so it’s going to sit over the weekend and I’ll deal with it Sunday or Monday.-

I started doing research into whether 380 injectors will be of any benefit to me at this point. Probably not. But, it kept me off the streets...

I went to a 300 car show today. LOTS of Mustangs, hot rods, Chevys,...but I was the only MINI. Didn't win anything except a door prize. I guess winning at a show like that is all in the 'presentation'. But, as usual, I had a great time and the crowd loved Peppurr.

Well not today but the last couple of weeks I had the car ripped apart. The transmission was starting to whirl/whine so I bought a bearing kit from England and dropped the transmission. While things were apart I also put in a new clutch, replaced the inner ball joints as the subframe was out and put on a new oil pan gasket. I also removed the oil filter housing and drilled a hole in it that I then tapped so that I could install an oil line for a remote pressure sensor.

My car (a very tired 1275) made 52.5 hp at the wheels and 61.5 torques. So about 60 hp at the crank.
Dyno champ made 80 hp at the wheels, that car is really fast! He's done a lot of adding lightness, so his car is about 1150 lbs. Probably about 100hp at the crank, this is an engine I built so I'm pretty proud of it, it made almost exactly what we predicted it would. Owner is very happy - as he should be!-

Yesterday I washed the Helmet, it's going to rain today. The day before that I changed the oil in it and and rotated the tires. This also means washing everything I can get to with the wheels off.

My kid bought her MINI at the end of December (2017) so has had her car for 10 months. Her car was certified pre-owned and she turned down buying the Tire Insurance at $1700 for two years. Last night, her tire warning light came on and picked up her second nail puncture in the 10 months she has owned the car. That puts here right on schedule with my car when I had runflat tires. I had a flat tire situation every 6 months or so for the two years I had runflat tires on my car. In the last 11 years I have had my R53 with regular non-RF tires, I have not had a flat tire situation.
My kid took her car in to have the tire patched (from the inside) and will get winter tires on this weekend. Then in the spring of next year, the runflat tires will be replaced with regular summer tires.

My Mini hasn't moved since the storm. I need to take it out tomorrow if only to scrub the rust off the rotors.-

My MINI passed state inspection. New oil and filter, too. They even washed and vacuumed it.
Of course, they found "things" I should "consider" servicing. One was an oil leak (well, "seepage) on a gasket that was replaced by them in 2015. Another was the battery "sounds" weak. They wanted to charge money to test it. The battery is about six months old, and I can get it tested for free just about anywhere.
But, with coupon, I paid 60-bucks for a good oil change by a competent technician. And, nothing failed inspection.

E-Types are beautiful cars. They drive great, too. Of course, they look good and drive well if they are properly restored and/or cared for. Silky-smooth engines, four wheel disk brakes (inboard discs, at that). Not Porsche track-type driving cars. They are touring cars of the top level. The kind of car capable of traveling 200 miles in two hours, on the right roads -- comfortably.
