Switched from "sport" over into "utility mode" for a trip to Costco & Sam's to fill the back with "essential" stuff. (At least that's how Herself saw it.) At least I got a couple of big racks of ribs for my weekend smoking, and we discovered a new to us sports bar that we both liked. :drool

Decided I need new brake pads front and rear but don't have time to do it right now.

Went to Cars and Coffee this AM, arrived late, got some good cleanup pictures.
FB album, public.
Then I took Scooter over to the 11AM MITM badge making and bag stuffing gathering, done and done, good group of busy people.
I hope to see many of you at MITM next week, it will be fun! Bring sunscreen, water and a chair for hanging in the MINI area.

Had some Michelin PSS's mounted then cleaned the front and barrels of the wheels. The Michelin's are a little bigger than the Hankook's that were on there, even though they are both 205/45/17. The rim used to be wider than the tires with the Hankook's.

installed M7 strut bar, removed poly bushings from lower engine mount to address a rattle that began with that install, then looked at front grill and decided to install the new aero grill another day because it was just too hot outside. That was all the fun part of the weekend.
Most of the rest of the day I was below my truck cursing at the rust that kept me from removing rear brake calipers. Hundreds of dollars in new parts waiting to be installed, but neither impact gun nor breaker bars worked. I soaked bolts with penetrating oil, used up half a bottle of propane with the torch, but no go. Gotta love that road salt around here. -

Nothing. I did nothing with my MINI today. It got a well deserved day off. I spent my morning with my wife's car. I did browse rear sway bars online today, though. I know I want to change it, now to decide on which one. I feel like the MINI might get a new one around Christmas.

Ordered a new turn signal/headlight stalk.
Mine trips the high beams on intermittently when I try to signal a turn,
(even with the lights off) and it takes some futzing to get them off again. -

Scraped off some old decals to make space for the RMW ones Jan gave me for the R50 and the R53 at MOTD, and I added some pertinent ones to my wife's R53.

installed fuel tank breather valve yesterday. Runs like with the old one, but hey, who knows, one less part that could be related to my misfire.
Also spent another $130 at Harbor Freight, almost exclusively on supplies for bolt extraction and brutal force removal (25" 1/2" drive breaker bar, new high powered angle grinder, left hand drill bits, ez-outs, etc...). Trip to and from Harbor Freight was the longest drive since I had the misfire and the car runs fine. Added some HEET to the gas, too, just in case it was full of H20 -
hmm - another tool I need to add to the garage :biggrin5: -

Finally got my ABS sensor today, since my old one decided to snap for God only knows what reason. Gotta get the trifecta out of my head, it's killin' me.

She passed [emoji2] airbag light was on but was a loose cable, there was a little bit of play in the drivers wheel and my headlamps needed adjusting. Going to need to get some new lights though as both the manual adjusters have broken so means an upgrade time! Thinking either angel eyes or xenons [emoji2]
