I contemplated, in greater depth, parting company with my beloved R53. Help, someone confirm or intervene!

I wish I could give you an opinion, but the only MINI I have ever driven is my 2005 R52 S.

Well, if you're gonna own one, it's good to have a shop that knows you and what goes wrong with them.
It does have a V-8, one of the weakest V-8's since the early 80's.....
Is it a Disco or an LR2 or 3? In 2001 I think it was a Disco still....
I worked for a Range Rover dealer, BTDT. More expensive to keep on the road than Jags!

I never understood why the engines were unreliable, they were understressed with only about 185 hp, although the vehicle is heavy......they get terrible mileage too IIRC, about 12 in town.....even worse if you're offroading or tearing up heavy snow.

I have no room to talk, I own one of Jalopnik's "Worst cars to own", an Audi Allroad with the twin turbo V-6, Tiptronic transmission and air suspension.
It also gets about 14 mpg in town.....
But (touch wood) I haven't had a lick of trouble with it. -

Is it the red-ish one you posted pictures of? Pretty sure a Honda swap would knock the rust right off of that one... [emoji12]
