    I did something...

Only thing that needs coded in to work is the digital speed readout on the tach, so that will be getting done as soon as I can.

Night illumination is almost un changed with the painted needles! [emoji2] I might pull them apart again when I paint the tach trim ring, so I can drill a couple tiny holes in the retainer that holds the needle trim cap on... That should emit some light onto the gauge face around the center of the needle. Why? Because small details matter! [emoji2]

Turned my car over to the dealers guy this morning. he brought me a new F55 S for a loaner. The new four door is not bad, but the front door is quite a bit smaller than my F56. Makes it a little harder to get in and out of. Nicely optioned with nav, HUD, auto trans, DDC, sun roof, and comfort access. I like my car better though. I'm supposed to find out if I get a new engine or repair this week.

Just talked to my service department. They took pictures of the damage to the bearings and crank and sent them to the head shed and are waiting for instructions to either repair the damage or replace the motor. Yep, fingers crossed for a new motor. :yesnod: :D

Question: When one says new motor, does that mean short block, long block or something else ??

Long block. Head, exhaust manifold, turbo, anything that could be affected by debris/particulates from the bearings or scoring on the crank. It's easier/faster to just drop in a complete crate motor than to transfer ancillary equipment from one engine to the other. I can't swear that all this info is carved in stone, nor would I bet my lunch money on it. This is all info that I have gleaned from several forums and open sources online. I can hopefully give you a definitive answer by the end of the week.
