Picked up the car at the wrapster, full bonnet and bumper clear bra. It looks fabulous.
On the way home... a downpour. I hid under an overpass for a few minutes...
Then determined that it wouldn't let up in time for me to get home for my next conference call. But also determined that the edge of the storm was only about 3-4 miles away. So I made a run for it.
All that stuff about "drive fast enough through the rain in a convertible, and you won't get wet?" Well, I've proven that it's pretty much true in LIGHT rain.
But in a downpour? When it's coming down in BUCKETS? Not so much.

Oh NO Paul! Hope you can get it dried out fast!
Yeah 10 years of screwing around with 4X4's taught me that going faster just makes it rain backwards! [emoji12]

Getting ready to head out for the Durham VA to visit my friendly neighborhood Plastic surgeon for a follow up. Raining cats and the occasional dog. Better than the northern part of the county though. They had nowhere from 3-5 inches of hail yesterday. Not really big stuff, just a lot of it. After the VA it's on to my Mini dealer to have them replace the TMAP under warranty.

Finished my crappy looking bikini top prototype.
Looks like poo, but works amazingly well. No flapping, nice and calm inside. I'm sure some rain will still find its way in around the sides and back, but it will be much drier than without. -

Washed the 11, immediate rain shower on the the last wipe of the Hydro. Crap!
Waxed a bit on the 16 for the trip to the Dragon, will polish a bit on Saturday morning. Not a full blown detail, just a little road protection.
Saturday 90% Thunder storms predicted, figures I am driving on Monday.

Yesterday I had all my ducks in a row preparing for the Dragon. My MINI was dirty, but ready for the road. I took it out for a test drive. Going down a hill, about 3 min into the drive...my car goes into limp mode and smoke starts billowing from the passenger side wheel well. I stop immediately, get out of the car...and find that the matt that I kept on my garage floor had wrapped itself around the tire and was smoking like hell. Pulled the matt out, Car started, but the CEL was on. All my indicators on my scan gauge were normal, so I kept on driving. After a couple of errands, the CEL went off and everything is back to normal.
Exciting times...
