Well, my gut still works. I had estimated in my mind that the simple bump on my CM was a 2500 to 3500 repair (MINI CM).

Today, first estimate at my preferred paint and body shop, initial estimate $3300 with an open supplement, not sure if the radiator support etc is broken in some unseen place, will know after they take it down for repair and internals inspection.

I have another estimate on Thursday AM, a high end shop in the next city over and then I meet with the Geico adjuster at a shop in Boulder. Better armed with information, we shall see how they treat this one.

My preferred shop said the entire bonnet should besprayed, since Earl Gray is a hard color to match and is special. We found a little bonnet damage under the headlight (crinkle). Damn headlight assembly is almost $900 to replace. Beaware/Beware.

    :(

Good luck dealing with Geico. All their PR is for the person being insured. If you're the victim they don't care. We had loads of fun with them on my wife's last car. The guy ran the stop sign and plowed into the side. I finally had my insurance take care of the car and go after Geico.

May the 'MINI Gods' smile on you, Don. Keep a stiff upper lip. I know you will look funny, but...

Returned my loaner today and picked up my car. They replaced both front control arms and bushings, replaced the boot latch, replaced the "COOPER S" on the boot, replaced all three wiper blades, replaced the cabin filter, and did an oil change. Glad it was all done under warranty.

EDIT: Also found a cool website with some interesting stuff on it today.

They were making a cracking/popping noise when I drove over rapid transitions like speed bumps.

Pretty cool that he has a ride along and tagalong pit crew. Wonder what he does if he ever goes out solo?

Well the gremlin is due to be picked up tomorrow... Total for fixes ONKY 650 versus the $1000 they initially thought. Fixed thermostats and coils which cleared the o2 sensor codes and she will be back in the garage tomorrow for a good detailing. Side note may not be parking her in garage sons Chevy is getting new steering colon and yah.... So much for that.
