Oh it's just down for now... I will NEVER give up on that car! It's part of me... It's just going to have to sit for a while and evolve into more badassery. [emoji12]

Sure it sucks, because show season is just starting, and there's a lot of things I wanted to do this year, along with the Porker might have to go to the Dragon again next year, but it's far from the end of the world.

When you build it, and use it to every bit of what it's capable of, you will break stuff... Just part of the life. [emoji2]

Which layer are you talking about?
The shelf in the back of his lair has many layers...
The top layer has gallon jugs of secret sauce bought in bulk...
The next layer down in his lair has lots of pump bottles to spray secret sauce...
The next layer down appears to have a small furnace filter???

I especially like the selection of whips hanging next to the fan... Maybe there should be an explanation for those?

Did my first ever youtube video to get some sounds of the home-made cowl intake I did. Forgive my bad editing skills. You can stop watching after about a 1:20. Thought I chopped enough off :) Normal driving leaving first stop sign, I got on it a little after the second.

Well the gremlin made it back to her home garage. Bill ONKY came to $657 however..... They busted my grill from slamming the hood down. Thanks! I mean I had planned on buying a new blacked out grill anyway but.... Did you think I wouldn't notice?

Done with Geico for bit. They treated the repair estimate fair, the 16 CM goes in for surgery on the 20th.

Of course, they want to dodge and weave over the lost value issue, I will push it, I have nothing but time. The local Sales MINI GSM said to count on 1500-2000 lost value on a trade if I want to go for a new MINI in the next year, one if they detect a repair was done or this little ding shows up on carfax. Estimate is at $3400, with an open supplement, total repaint of the bonnet, new bumper and new clearbra and extras. Love tap....

    :) Don

Good to hear that everything is moving forward smoothly at least with the repair work.

Yah. I wasn't thrilled. It's pretty much trashed and barely hanging on.

Dropped the "lifetime" transmission fluid, and replaced with Redline. Actually, original fluid didn't look too bad, but after 114000 miles it needed changed.

I put some Armour All on the rubber (?) weather strip/rain gutter piece that runs round the roof. Not sure what the best dressing is for these rubber and vinyl bits. Any suggestions?

Spent the day washing the MINI in preparation for an application of Gyeon Quartz... It went on easy....

    First the wash...
Then followed with Gyeon Iron (removes any iron particles embedded in the paint surface).
Next up was Gyeon Prep (preps the surface, gets rid of any remaining oils on the surface).
Next up was Gyeon Prime Q2
Lastly a coat of Gyeon Cure (sacrificial coating)

Did a little sweating as it was in the mid 80's but thankfully the humidity was only 20% today...

I've asked mother nature to help with the IR curing process... She is kindly assisting in this effort...:D Mom's are great aren't they? Did you catch it?

    Definitely NOT ArmourAll.

I use 303 Protectant...lasts a long time and easy to apply. I use a foam paint brush to apply it.
