Yes, I know about lifetime stuff, hopefully I will not have to deal with it.
I did get the PDR done this morning, they got most of it out, now I don't go "whoa, who hit my door", but I know it is there....
The techs, it took two of them to work most of it out did not want to take the door apart and the CM door has structural area for safety right at the point of impact. The guys said the ding had to be from above and pretty hard to make the dent, so I suspect a light tipped over in the paint booth as they were working the clear coat. Oh well!
I have a lot of cleanup to do, folks in the shop do not wash their hands, must be my OCD kicking in again.

I'm not into black wheels, but it looks pretty good on your car.

I've had the car aligned after wheel and tire install, and just today I've swapped the front and rear wheels and I still get a shake at speed. It's not all the time it's kind of intermetten, comes and goes but it's steady. I've checked out the axles and they look straight as can be. I've cleaned off the surface where the wheel contacts the rotor on all 4. Mind you the car drove perfectly smooth with the old wheels.
Now, I've had some grabbing for couple months happening with the brakes that I don't feel when I'm on the brakes hard, but on a casual regular stop it feels grabby kinda like bad rotors but if the rotors were bad I'd feel it under hard braking.. I think.
Could the problem just be the grabby brakes, and the new wheels being a different offset just exaggerate an existing "issue"? -

Today was a milestone for me. I actually drove my MINI. After coming back from the Dragon I parked the MINI in the garage and it hasn't moved as I was booked up surgeries , dental crap, and cancer. Had a lung surgery on 6/24/16 and the result...I am cancer free as the cancer did not spread to my lymph nodes. The surgeon got it all, along with part of my lung. I can truly say I am blessed on this one. See ya'll at the Dragon next year.

If that isn't it, have them check to be sure they torqued everything down during the alignment. One loose nut or bolt can mess things up.

Changed the oil and filter, and had this happen to the o-ring. Never happened before in all the many, many times that I've done an oil change on the MINI. Obviously I didn't have the o-ring/filter cap seated properly, but everything seemed to go together okay. No unusual tightness when I put the cap back on. Luckily I had a spare o-ring in another, genuine MINI filter. Only noticed a problem when I saw a puddle of oil on the garage floor. I compared the pieces of the torn o-ring against a new one, and it looks like I got all of the pieces.
Second picture shows new o-ring on top of the torn one.Attached Files:

I try not to park in full sun, but don't have a windshield screen for when I have no choice. I have limo window tint on my sunroofs which helps my AC keep up, but I pop the sunroofs up when I park in the sun, to let heat escape. I also have the maximum legal tint on the other windows.
When it is 104 outside, windshield shades just don't seem to help much over any significant amount of time, since they are inside the car. I just try to vent off as much excess heat as I can. I will also park at the end of a parking lot if there is a tree or something else that can provide some shade. Keeping the sun from reaching the car works. Once the sun reaches the car, it is only a matter of time, no matter what you put in the car.
That's my three-cents (inflation).

I got the new motor mount on. That goo that's in them acts like lock tight on that lower bolt.

Ages ago I removed the rear seats, and yesterday I finally made a cover for the empty space. It covers the spare tire I keep back there, and is a mounting point for my fire extinguisher.

I only use OEM filters and always change that O ring with every oil change. :ihih:
-
+1 on the OEM filters, Dave. I usually buy them in bulk off of fleabay.
Never had this happen before, and I've changed the oil every 4-5000 miles for 80000 miles!!!!!
I let the car idle after replacing the o-ring, and no puddle on the floor or any leakage from the oil filter cap.

Installed my new Kicker 6x9's finally. Had the rear interior panel removed for the rear damper adj. cable install and remembered I had new speakers just waiting.......
And then gave the interior a full clean and treatment. Good day all around. -
Went out for a bike ride after dinner.
Then when I got back home gave the MINI its first bath since the big detail a few weeks ago... with a little refreshment of course.
-
Checked the oil, and drove to work
