LOL, no sir, not at all, just a tinkerer. Chef by trade for 25+ years, but now out of the kitchen full time, and handle photography, digital marketing/branding and social media while also maintaining a Culinary Mentor role all with the same company I started as a chef in.

As for adding to the tablet, it's more some functionality like making sure that wifi/mobile data turn off when the car is turned off. I don't want to inadvertently leave say Spotify on, and it be running all night or something.

IDEALLY, I would also have Torque running on this, but I can't get two things running on one OBDII port, the BUS just is too fast and sending too much info, I can only do the UltraGauge OR Torque, not both. I've tried a few different splitters, but also don't want to goof anything up with the cars systems too.

The whole social distancing thing, and being away from my fiancé since March, I've just found myself trying to keep busy both physically and mentally. All the money I haven't been spending at the Bar, has seemingly gone into the Car. Just trying to make a modern equipped R53 I guess. It's all still a toy, and I just love foolin' with it.

I've gotten a little tired of the OEM MINI supplied cable that hooks up my Iphone to the radio AUX port...

Heard some good things about the firefly bluetooth dongle... So I got one...

It plugs into the USB and 3.5 jack and allows wireless bluetooth connection... Now I can listen to my tunes over the radio and also use maps with voice directions playing through the radio... I should have gotten one of these sooner...

Ok not really mini but the track day was fun. The only incident I had was when I came out on the straight and the car in-front of me waved me by I pilled right to pass him at a good clip. thats when a guy in a modified new GT350 Rosh Mustang decided to make it 3 wide. I don't know where he came from I thought I was watching my mirrors. On the briefing by the instructor after the session he was making a big point of not passing unless pointed by. He said the three wide happened a couple times. He did not seem happy. The only person not there to listen to him was the dude in the mustang. After the Novice parade my son said to watch him because he was getting the car sideways on the parade lap.

Near the end of the second session about half way down the straight (its a drag strip) my car hesitated then in the back coming out of some corners it did it agin. I slowed and pilled into the paddock and shut the car down. A girl came over and said a lot of whits smoke came out of the care. The exhaust was white, I cranked the car and it was blowing out white cotton material. I thank my muffler gave up the ghost. Also the dipstick was up a little and some oil had been spit out. Its normal for my dipstick to be pushed up but this first time I have seen oil.
On the way home the car pulled fine at half throttle but under WOT at 4500 RPM it would start to miss till about 48 or 5000 and the pulls fine. I did have a post cat O2 code before the track day.
Its 57 and cloudy today to cold for a southern boy. Tomorrow I will check the codes and have a good look around.

    :Thumbsup:Pops and burbles are back!
They went away when I started getting
a MAF plausibility pending code 2B5C
(P115C) and when I replaced the
throttle body the codes stopped and
the pops and burbles came back.

Tweedbean's How-To here gave me the courage to finally do what's long overdue.[emoji4]
Gave the dremel duties to my bud to give him some confidence to do his GP next. Painful sight, the cutting. Haha. After everything was sealed, the sealant was visible thru the clear. Cheated a bit w/ VHT Nightshade to hide it.
Happy w/ the result....The bud? Still in shock....will likely leave his GP alone.[emoji16][IMG][IMG]

Started the Helmet a few days ago and let it run. Tomorrow I plan on taking it to work. I haven’t driven it in some time now.

Since we're not allowed to socially gather, I took a day off and went motoring all by myself.

It was. Took 3 days off, ended being called in to work on 2 of those three days. So I just turned everything off. Have to do solo drives in this day of social distancing and COVID.

Winter tires on the three MINIs

Looks like some snow is on the horizon here in Western Ohio next week, so my snow tires are going on my S on Friday. Even though my tires are all season, I'm pretty sure they'd be about worthless, as they are more of a 3-season tire.

We can not have 3 MINI/Minis in the garage. Either had to sell the R50(which is what I am replacing with the R56S) or my wife said she would sell her 1974 Austin Classic Mini......easy choice!

R56S tweaking continues. Harness bar, and custom rear seat delete platform which is the base for my Mini Sleeping Pod Version S! Lol

Digging the cars out of curbside
    parking (no driveway, no garage)
for the third and final time for this storm.
    Waiting for the plumber/hvac for
    our furnace (thermocouple) and
    tomorrow, another contractor for gas
and electric work to get a whole house
    generator installed.
Good thing I’m on staycation this week.

Yesterday I ordered some new aftermarket tail lights for my wife's MINI from Outmotoring. They got here this morning. They are a great company.

    MCS02,
Did you get the UNION Jack taillights or another option. I need to look for something a OutMotoring for my JCW Clubbie, I wonder what Aaron has in the store. :)
    Don

Everyone have a safe and Merry Christmas, stay safe on New Years. We still have the crap floating in the air (cough, cough). :(
