Got these tail lights in over the weekend. Full led and sequential turns/hazards. Will get some video soon.

My older son needed to use my truck so I drove the Helmet to work. What a great Mini. I haven’t got to drive it lately I forget how fun it is.

agranger MINI of the Month June 2009Supporting MemberMy MINI is a fun car for me, but I did a similar deep mechanical dive when I bought it a few years ago. It's worth it if it stops me from having a mechanical failure in the middle of nowhere on my vacation (like driving to MOTD). I learned that lesson when driving the car home from the purchase (Austin, TX to Charlotte, NC) and the idler pully bearing died late at night on a rural section of a highway.

Gave the Countryman a bath. It was covered in mud. I should stop taking on to unpaved mountain roads...nah...that's too much fun. It was a sunny day until after I washed it. Then a dark cloud rolled in and it rained for about 20 minutes.

Did the second panel yesterday. Wraped, grill, cleaned up...Got my little trim tape in today to seal the edges of the carbon inserts up and smooth the curve out.
All in all, I'm pleased with em. I think they'll look pretty sharp once on.
I have a little lighting project from the side scuttles that I may finally use, still on the fence.
Cleaned up edge
Top down view of both panels into the grills.

Spent time putting on the new wheels and cleaning up the calipers. Need to adjust the ride height a little and get it in for an alignment. Happy with the looks.

Actually yesterday, took the 11 CM to the brushless to get the snow crud off and the dust from having it sit out while contruction continues in the master bedroom.
Sadly, dear wife backed the 11 into the contruction guys trailer which was blocking a bit of driveway. Ah crappola. Gues it might be time to see if I have some light bodywork done at 80K miles or look for the next semi-new car for my sweet wife. She does not want to drive the 20 Clubby JCW, miy car, may problem.
Suggestions, the 21 CMs are really getting big and access to the local dealer is a factor, she does not like the idea of a 40 mile oneway trip if I cannot take her next one into service. Been looking at Audi and a few others, but lot of the locals are not doing as well this year, so hope they will be around in 2022.-

took the wheels to have the new tires mounted. I knew I was in good hands when the manager pulled up in a JDM Acura Integra. One of the girls that works there came in and the three of us talked cars. They are into drifting. Both are big gear heads.-

It's 1983. My wife and I went to estate sale. the couple that owned it were moving to Florida and didn't want to have it shipped down. Well I got the feeling the husband did but not the wife. The car is decent shape. It does need a new soft top they said I have not seen it yet. I need to get a new dash cover. It had a miss and some other little things wrong with it all are fixed. All I have left is; installing the steering coupler, top, figure out what I need to get the AC system to move from flow to vents, and convert it to R124a. The AC is the only thing I am a little concerned about, I hope the seals in the compressor are not bad. I just thought it would be a fun project then sale it this spring. These were taken at the estate sale.

This was fun. Here we are in a left turn lane in one of the busiest intersections in Vancouver. The car in front of me was a true MINIac. When he merged on the highway, I backed off a bit and let him in. We both waved at each other and and then motored together into the city of Vancouver. As we passed traffic we exchanged positions multiple times and had a great time weaving through all the slower traffic. At this intersection I stayed further back because the second sensor that triggers the left turn signal is 3 car lengths back from the stop line.

This bish just cost me 1200 bux! I still love her though. She needed a new front main seal and an alternator. I just did the 145k oil change yesterday afternoon. I've been pretty into biking over the last year trying to not go crazy in this new, or not so new anymore, work from home world.
How many of yall are going up for the first annual Unofficial MOTD? I won't be able to attend but am planning a run up there maybe the 2nd of weekend next month just cuz.
