Ha Ha! I thought about renting a PODS storage container, but I wouldn't be able to have it delivered until after I close on the house. [emoji6]
We did come up with a solid plan to get everything done, with only 3 plane tickets, and 2 rental trailers...
Hoping to be out of this state and in the new house by February! [emoji2]

Replaced the valve cover gasket at 82K... hoping it would solve a P1497 CEL code. -
It was also nice to remove a valve cover without having a valve adjuster gauge and Allen keys in my hand. -
Well not in my current MINI, but I pulled into a parking lot today and found this.
After a couple of seconds I thought, That looks real similar to my first MINI, my 2005 R50.
I glanced thru the window and saw it was a cvt.
Now I had to check. After a quick glance at my smartphone for my old VIN I verified it was indeed the same car.
A little dirtier than when it was mine, but hey - it is a CVT still on the road. And I sold it with 100k+ miles. -

I would recognize my first MINI at first glance, but when it sold after I traded her for the R53 I never got to see it again. Out of all the MINIs I've ever seen, there has never been another Jet black on Jet black R50 with the interior only chromeline and anthracite package, the red special cloth/ black leather seats, sunroof, and standard gauge pack... Never even seen one like it at the Dragon. [emoji853] Something tells me now that I once had a really rare optioned R50.

Back in columbus...Over the weekend, drove from South Dakota to columbus.
Coolant/Temperature warning light popped up, coolant leakage and water pump failed. Got them fixed, replaced under warranty,

Got her fired up this morning and I've been noticing my starter is spinning slower and slower. If I start it shortly after running it's pretty slow, or at least slow enough to get my attention. I've been priming the fuel pump before starting and that seems to help it out, but I'm thinking my OE battery is coming to the end of it's life. The little window is still green but she's gotta be close to the end.

How old is your battery?
My car is a 2009 and I think this is the year for it too......it's rare to have one last even this long in today's cars.....most are 3-4 year lifetimes now. -

I tucked it safely in the garage. With the hurricane bearing down on us, my Jeep Wrangler is the best option for a few days.
