Traveling a bunch right now, this past week we both were home at the same time, so we took the 11 Countryman up in the mountains to see the last of the fall colors.
Pretty! On the way up the 11 tossed a 1/2 power message, but after I stopped and cycled it went away and the power was good over a 11000 foot pass.
I already had an appointment to get the brake fluids flushed and 2 year indicator reset so told them on check-in that the 11 tossed a message. Now I have a loaner while they (MINI) figure out if the new software and some replacement parts clear out the high altitude code issue or if they have to replace the turbo. Hummmm.
The upside I have full warranty on the 11, so only $50 out of pocket, we shall see how this resolves itself. Bad timing as we are planning to drive the 11 to Missouri in November, not full of confidence right now. 11 has 55K on it, not a warm and fuzzy.
Guess in 2 years I will add and extended on the 16 just to be comfortable. I do love my MINIs.
Now the loaner I have, not so much, it is a S Clubman ALL4, good power, comfortable driver, great sound system and interior appointments for a BMW. Ugly front!

I backed my truck carefully past it to unload a chord of wood.

Got off of work and walked past both of my mini's, both sitting, broken and sad. I walked past them again to go to the store and once again to go to work tonight.

Warshed Skooby the dirty clubster. I did it on a hill & warshed the tars too. Now it is all ready for a new coat of dirt.
Use a chock for your tires not a chuck. Chuck's will bet bored & walk to the donut shop. :donut1: -
Took my other much older car on a drive with other old cars.

Looks like the rainy season has started in the Pacific Northwest area. I put more Rain-X on my windshield this morning.

Took my car in for PA's yearly state Inspection and Emissions testing and new Winter tires on my crappy OEM S-Heavies.
Summer tires are done so I will store the rims until Spring for a new set Dunlop Star Specs for the Dragon.
The Dragon is only 202 Days, 01 Hours, 04 Minutes, 23 Seconds away. -
The Dragon............I drove my mini to Nashville on Monday. It sure is hard knowing the Dragon is a near 3 hours way. I have to work all night so I must rest during the day. It sure is hard being responsible. :frown2:

When you put things like that, it really seems like I have a lot to do! [emoji12] Still hoping to be moved in before then, but the MINI will still be in broken and in Colorado. [emoji20] Going to wait for the garage to be built before bringing the last load of stuff.
On the plus side, it will be my 4th Dragon, and I will be continuing my tradition of bringing a different car every time! [emoji23]

Spent some time under the hood of my son's R53 over the last two weeks. 32k miles on a Florida kept 2005 R53 and you'd think everything is peachy... but there's a lot to do. After fixing power steering hoses and headliner earlier this year, this was more of an aggressive maintenance effort. Here's what it took to make it churn like a brand new car. So quiet and smooth compared to my R53...
- Collant Flush and replaced with 50/50 red stuff
- o-ring for CPS and dip stick tube replaced, new SC intake gasket (green)
- SC oil service - old oil pretty dark and with the typical old SC oil stink. Lots of oil in the unit, though, so no leak or wear
- New upper engine mount and bolt, removed poly inserts from bottom mount
- New coolant reservoir, heat shield rattle below it fixed with new screw below reservoir and tightening of the other nuts from below - that thing was driving me nuts! Still have a rattle from the resonator part of the stock exhaust at about 1100 rpm or when moving it by hand. Not sure what to do other than to go one-ball mod
- Fan shroud foam replaced with closed cell foam
- Low speed fan resistor mod wired up with remote resistor on bumper (with waterproof disconnect)
- throttle body cleaned
- Green air filter cleaned and re-oiled
- Tensioner inspected. Still good until we get down to the crank seal and damper job. Belt only 1k miles old, so not changed.
- Collant Flush and replaced with 50/50 red stuff
