Put new struts on the bonnet, boot and replaced the wheel arch i lost last week. Trying to decide on seats, OEM just doesn't seem to be worth it.

 

Took a nice morning drive to and from our monthly retiree breakfast.

 

I gave a wash and shine the trim today

 

Had to make a run down to the Naval Base for some prescriptions. There was a huge traffic jam on the interstate coming home so boo hoo, I had to travel 35 miles on a windy country road to get home.

Cold in Chicagoland, so a tire pressure check before tomorrow's end of season MINI club drive.
Filled all four corners with fresh winter air.

 

I was going through some old pictures and I was think it use to be a lot different back in the day (2005-2010) when there was a lot more going on with Mini clubs. I use to belong 8 different clubs and now I belong to 4. Along with the club's being gone so has several of the vents. It seems most of the new owners aren't interested in the same thing that I was when I first got my car. At least you guys on the east coast still have the Dragon.

 

You have inspired me to put snow shoes on Skooby the clubster. Done & now resting up, I am getting to old to do this stuff. My son is in Vancouver so it was all on me.

 

I made dealing with the wheels by getting a battery impact gun. For some reason it seems a lot easier. I pull my wheels 3 or 4 times a year. I don't worry about snow ,but with white wheels they need cleaning a lot.

 

Tire change day for my 2002 Cooper..

Since I have to take out all the other stuff that is usually in the garage to have room to work, I have to do it before it gets too cold out.

 

I drove my very dirty MINI to Costco and bought puppy food. It was a nice day (39F) and I got a wave back from another MINI.

 

Went out kart racing with the Chicago MINI Motoring Club and then a stop at a local hot-dog place

Changed to summer tires/wheels and
adjusted rear sway bar and front shock
settings for the funner-to-motor months
ahead.

 

Summer wheel/tire change part 1 for me today..

The clubman is getting new tires mounted this week and will swap to them in the next couple weeks.
We sometimes get a late season snow dump in Chicagoland so I usually hold off on the daily driver till mid-month.

 

Took my MINI to a drizzly cold Cars and Coffee, and a cool looking Classic Mini also showed up

Went to retiree breakfast and a drive as it is great day with the sun shining, a slight breeze and the trees coming into full foliage.

 

I must be a little different than him. When I drive my Mini I go back to being a kid or it least I feel like one.

 

Today I replaced what my friend Eric always referred to as the mustache. All of the clips on the old one had broken off. I guess after 15 years it's not surprising that the plastic got super brittle. Bought a new one from Steven Dennis at MINI of Bedford 1-603-637-2900. Great guy to deal with & E MINI Parts .com used to be a sponsor here. That is before all sponsors disappeared. He always includes some swag with the parts, boy is Babs happy with her new MINI socks & ball cap!
